Been released officially by Brummies. Supposed down to Adkins whether he gives him a contract now. Also noticed Novak been released. Been a decent acquisition. Good back up for Sharp and Adams

Edgar - no, totally unnecessary. Could get someone at least as good for the same money who won't miss games due to international call ups.

Novak - yes. Hard working, strong and versatile forward who can score goals and provide for others.

Prefer someone with a bit of fight/leadership at CB...Baps made him look a bit better but he's distinctly average...IMO...

A big no to both . We need a clean sweep or we will just be in the same situation next season.

Let's stop thinking and going for Mr Average . As supporters we know and deserve better.

Lord Bos, is the elusive Dan Burn good enough,? I dont know much about him but he has played at a better level and is still young, and our gaffer (however that may be) obviously rates him.

Distinctly average, but i doubt we've got plans for anything better

Problem is we won't splash out on 7/8 transfer fees to replace non retained players so it will be youth players, freebie's and a couple on transfer fees. we are deluded if we think the board will sanction 7/8 transfer and Agent fees.

Boxer , to me Dan Burn is good enough . However this technical board may cause a boat load of shenanigans due to the time it will take to make there minds up and sanction approval for a player.

Also Adkins credibility may have taken a dive relating to players he has chased on the radar for a long time . Hammond situation hasn't done Adkins or us any good . To me the Burns fella would be ideal , but we will miss out due to the board doubting Adkins judgement and the players contract , salary negotiations.

The bloke who I think will be the man with the final say , with McCabes blessing and backing is this young Travis bloke . McCabes has taken a shine to him and I think he is beginning to trust his judgement more than Adkins.

Just a thought , but Adkins and Turnbull will provide a list and it will be thumbs up or down.

Burns may not come for political reasons not football , just to prove a point to Adkins that he doesn't 100% run the show and every move has to be answerable.

Thick skinned Adkins will live with this , but the downfall when things start to go wrong , it will not be his fault . This season the fans , next season the technical board.

It ain't rosey down at the lane , with only one happy happy chappy being young Travis .

Nope. He will be commanding a sizeable wage I'd have thought. He wouldn't justify it.

I'd have Edgar back. Think he's a decent centre half, a good age, lots of experience, tall and a captain of his country suggesting the right temperament. Wouldn't break the bank to sign him but would look to offer sensible terms. If he rejects, move on.

Father in law is a Fulham fan and reckons he's shit, but then he did play mostly at full back for them.

Gone are the days of Haynes , Collins , at Craven Cottage . Every player seemed to be shit and in disarray this season ( on par with us ) .

Burns to me with age , experience and height would be a big lump , which is what we need . Problem is with us , we are in league 1 , not a pot to piss in , so have to go for rejects or surplus to requirements. Are we better anyway going for players who know league 1 from this season and forget championship players ( Burn I think did a stint at Hartlepool )

The worry is can Adkins motivate and change average players into good quality promotion chasing players with belief and tactical nounce .

No to Edgar.

Mark Duffy has been released by Brum, one of Burton's better players this season and someone we should be going for. I'd definitely consider Lee Novak and Wes Thomas. Both decent target men and better than what we've had over the last 2 seasons.

!!!!!DAN BURN ALERT!!!!!

You know the rules about mentioning Dan Burn on here. Start another thread about him, bump it every 3 months and keep talking about him knowing we won't be signing him.

Phase 2 of the process will be signing him in 10 years when he's on the wind down and slating him on here for crap performances.

Agreed a fairly solid centre back at this level and better than the likes of Collins and Harrison.

Although if we did get him I would also like us to secure the signing of Baptiste on a season long loan or something.

I'd be content with signing Edgar, not disappointed if we don't.

I mentioned it in the rumour mill too but I'd be looking at Aaron Martin who has left Coventry. He'd be a solid signing.

Dan Burn was the massive fucker who played for Yeovil when they went up.

Pattern emerging

Sign players from struggling championship side who are getting relegated and wonder why we struggle to win games

It's the Blades Way

Novak would be a good signing. Like a better Sammon.

Whats interesting is looking back sometimes and seeing what/who we were talking about, reminds you of where we were as a club and, thankfully ,where we are today , wonder what/who we will be discussing in a couple of years time ?

Complaining about the away facilities at Barcelona for our Champions League game.
