The visit of Gillingham could see Blades’ boss Chris Wilder hand a debut to on-loan Manchester United youngster Joe Riley, who joined the club until the end of the season on Tuesday.
Wilder’s squad could also be boosted by the return of Daniel Lafferty who missed out on the loss to Walsall due to a back injury, though the Blades boss has expressed his concerns on rushing the defender back too early.
The Gills have both Deji Oshilaja and Jake Hessenthaler available following suspension and illness and are likely to shuffle the pack following three league losses on the bounce. The visitors will, however, have to wait and see if international clearance is received in time for new signing and 6′ 9″ goalkeeper Tomas Holy.
