The Blades first team squad will be donating United merchandise and gifts to Hallam FM this Wednesday in order to support the radio station’s ‘Mission Christmas’ campaign.
Supporting the campaign further, the Blades are offering supporters the opportunity to get involved by dropping off a gift that the players can deliver on their behalf.
Thousands of children in poverty from around our region will wake up on Christmas Day without presents, Unitedites are being asked to contribute to make Christmas morning that little bit brighter for a local youngster.
Sheffield United’s Operations Director, Dave McCarthy, commented: “We are asking that between now and the end of the Southampton game next Tuesday, any supporters wishing to get involved buy just one extra present for a disadvantaged child and drop it into the Bramall Lane Superstore during opening hours from now, or even on the night of the Southampton game.”
The toys should be new, unopened and suitable for children up to the age of 18. The Superstore is open 9am until 4pm on Saturday and 10am until 2pm on Sunday. The Superstore will be taking in donations right up until the evening of the Southampton match. The Blades will then ensure the players deliver the toys and gifts personally next week to Hallam FM, ready for distribution before Christmas Day.
The toys have started to arrive at the ground and as the appeal closes on Tuesday night, we would like Unitedites to give it one final push.
Any Blades fans who would like to donate a new, unwrapped toy or gift, before the Southampton game, can do so at one of the following drop off points –
- Blades Superstore – just hand in over the counter
- Shoreham Street Car Park at the back of the kop – please look for the ‘Mission Christmas‘ van
- John Street Executive Main Reception
- Behind the bar in the ‘International Bar’ on John Street 2nd floor
United’s corporate customers can leave their gifts in the following places –
- Platinum Suite Reception
- John Street Executive Main Reception
- Main Directors Reception
The 1st team players will then deliver the gifts, later this week, along with some Blades merchandise that the Club and sponsors have donated.
