A follow up on the first volume – released back in 2013 – another compilation of the popular ‘Folklore and Fables’ articles is ready, just in time for those organised enough to be getting their Christmas presents in order early or those in need of some entertainment as the dark evenings draw in.

‘Folklore and Fables’ is a collection of articles on his beloved Blades, by Sheffield United supporters’ liaison officer, club historian and ‘encyclopedia of Blades knowledge’, John Garrett. John has worked at Bramall Lane for over two decades and began writing his popular, and award-winning, ‘Folklore and Fables’ feature for United’s matchday programme almost 10 years ago. This book is a compilation of some of his best work, giving his inimitable take on life at Bramall Lane – featuring his family history, music, holidays abroad, club legends and, rather occasionally, football.

There are some 50 specially-selected articles that make fascinating reading, whether or not you are a Blades supporter.

The book is now available, either in the Blades Superstore, via the following Amazon link – Folklore and Fables II: An alternative look at Sheffield United or directly from the publishers verticaleditions.com – use discount code S24SU to save yourself 10%!

Watch this space for an S24SU.com competition to win a signed copy, or, if you’d like to meet the man himself, there will be an exclusive launch in the Bramall Lane Superstore on Thursday November 7th – 6pm til 7.30pm, where John will be on hand to personally sign copies.
