Before Christmas, club historian John Garrett released a book documenting some of his time interviewing and speaking to some of the greats to have pulled on a red and white shirt.
The book is a fascinating compilation, with a random selection of the club’s former players from before the war up to present day talking to John, about their life and times at the Lane and how the Club has stayed in their hearts. For those who don’t know John, with years at the club on his CV, his stories are vast, often hilarious and he prides himself on enlightening people about the history of the Blades.
A must read for any Blades fan, with stories from 1936 FA Cup finalist Jock Dodds via Tony Currie, to popular former skipper Chris Morgan, there really is something in there that will interest United’s longest serving supporters and those still in their youth.
Having this week been released on Kindle, if your preference is to read digitally rather than have a physical copy in your hand, the e-book can be purchased now from Amazon via the following link: UTB – In other words – Sheffield United’s Players
