It’s terrible. Two years in the PL, parachute payments. It’s not as if it costs anything to run the club and the players pick their wages straight off the Money tree. Plus the Judge made McCabe give the ground back for just one shiny sixpence.

It isn't looking too clever at the moment, but it's still early days and I am going to try and keep my powder dry until we have done some transfer business.

One thing that United have never failed to do is surprise me, both for good and for ill in equal measures. Let's see what is in store over the next few weeks.

A more balanced view is that yes we have some excellent players at this level, but we are already weaker without MGW, and it is going to be hard (although not impossible) to get a similarly influential player, with what seems to be a fairly restricted budget this season.

Then we don't know what is happening with Berge, and when some players will return the same after bad injuries.

We scream comfortable mid table at the moment, but add a bit of quality, or lose a bit in the other direction and it's a different story.

The plan apparently is to only spend what we earn and base the team around academy players. Fkin ludicrous and will see us in L1 sooner rather than later. If owners won’t invest any of their own money what are they contributing? Nothing.

Is it so strong? We've lost our best player (MGW). Our strike force is injured (though I suspect a couple may be back), we've offloaded 2 more forwards in Didzy and Burke and replaced nobody whatsoever with nobody whatsoever.

We are weaker than at any point last season. Its alright saying Hecky can get the best out of the team but he needs some sort of a push with it. I wouldn't expect Lewis Hamilton to win nany races in a 1.6 Polo despite him getting the best out of the car.
