Three cheers for Chris Wilder

We finally have a manager who tells it how it is and is sticking to the new club policy of not being bullied into paying over the odds for players .There is a blades price and a 1st division price we have been a easy touch previously ,Mr Wilder is looking for value for money not paying an inflated price.Agents have fleeced us in the recent past !! you have to be strong and say no.Last season Wigan (who still had parashute payments available ) built a new team but didn't get fleeced , yes they paid fees but got value for money as the table
proved.Although they had a bigger. Budget than us the actual wage part of that budget was smaller what does that tell you ?. Value for money which we are finally striving for, OK we are a bigger club than Wigan
,should that mean we get fleeced ?.
Still think we will get players in but Mr Wilder is not for turning more power to his elbow.
Now let's put all this to one side and support the team saturday
Well, somebody appears to have overdosed on McCabe's Kool-Aid.

I watched the 'Class of 92' tonight, and it was interesting to hear the Salford City Chairman say the same things Wilder has been saying re new players. That is 'When they hear that it's Salford, the price doubles, getting players in is a nightmare'.

There's obviously something in what Wilder is saying, but there has to be a way around it or we'll sign nothing but dross.

Presunably the other 23 clubs In our league get it easy then on transfers?

The fun thing is, I thought in appointing Wilder and 'downsizing' the budget/wage bill, we'd be scouring L1+2, even non-league for the best young talent...getting them all in early and drilling the fucker's into a unit that is more than its separate parts.

...and yet here we are, a week away from the window closing with same bullshit about 'we tried', 'ridiculous fee's' etc...whilst desperately chasing 31 year olds coming to the end of their careers...
100% this. He's already signed Clarke, Duffy, and Wright who are all 30+ on 2 and 3 year contracts as well.

Yes - largely agree but remember it was Wilder who wouldn't stump up another £50k to get the services of McFadzean - the best centre back in League 1.

That was a huge error on his part. So he buys O'Connell instead and now realised he's not good enough and now has to go out and buy another centre half.

Sheer stupidity based on his false concept of "value for munneh".

People who, come next year, we will be struggling to get shut of.

I like OPs cut of his jib. Makes me wonder if these real clappus happus actually reflect on past seasons, the behaviours of people like McCabe and his ilk and connect the dots a little. It shouldn't take much doing, and really, if we were to be slightly optimistic about it as much as we could be and say, "well, it couldn't get any worse, could it" there is a half truth in that no, it couldn't because we are rock fucking bottom with no sign of improvement but yes, we could drop into div four and with this lot, you'd even envisage further descent. Imagine being a supporter of one of the football league's more notorious teams, with a varied pedigree and a ground where the first of a series of firsts actually happened, with a fan base better than one or two Premier League clubs dropping into the Femfresh League? Imagine the shame? But it won't make a fucking dent on these wankers' consciousnesses. They will still see the up side of being down, no matter what. We should 'get behind the team' (despite the team patently not being behind the supporters). We should 'give Wilder until Christmas' (when really, you wouldn't sit with a running gash in your leg oozing blood onto the carpet hoping it will just stop and heal over). We should look anywhere else but the cocking obvious where the fault lies - a team now entirely stripped of any creativity and talent (and it is) a manager saddled with a board who sells said talent and gives him peanuts to buy replacements, if any and even ... without any measure of self-awareness of what is being implied ... the fucking long-suffering supporters.

People, every season (and there are some on here) shell out good money to uphold McCabe and his empire, and in return get repaid with substandard footballing performances, when they are expecting a glorious scrap at the top with us rolling away from the pack come April with some frankly inspiring teamwork. Its not wrong to expect that, given what these supporters do, year in and year out. McCabe knows this, and completely, cruelly and dismissively overlooks this. He knows you'll all be back (even if he has to tweak the prices to make you think he's being reflective on the failures) and he knows there will be people like OP to offer pathetic argument to big up his latest fuck up manager, who in truth is entirely blameless and is heading fast for the car park, followed by his belongings. And with each shedding of another boss (with handsome payout, which won't be spent on players) there will be another less-capable replacement, followed by more shedding of players to pay for the sacking and more pretend signings who would struggle in Div 2.

Please ... everyone. Stop feeding the toilet that is McCabe and see the truth.

You think it was CW's decision not to pay rather than our board's?
And Wilson was signed as cover for MacFadz's position, not O'Connell

I want the flexibility to be fickle as befits a blade.

So I'm giving him one cheer, one boo and a 'meh' so I can cover all scenarios over the next week.

No, unless they're buying a player off us.

It doesn't stack up TBH, that's my point. Now it seems every club that we negotiate with (cash strapped or otherwise), has the financial strength to hold onto their better players, even when they've been offered the market value?? I suspect it's more like us not offering the the market value or 'going for' players we were never going to get in a blue moon.

There's only one Chrissy Wilder one Chrissy Wilder pockets and hands wants players for a grand walking in a Wilder wonderland edit wants not signs of course. Oh and the last line on the original it was a tufty wonderland but as LYDON is still to receive his MDMA delivery for today Wilder wonderland will have to do

Just been confirmed by Burton chairman ! they paid 250k for Mcfadzean. !! We were asked to pay double that,a classic case of trying to fleece us Mr Wilder spot on about the inflated fees we are asked to pay.We obviously are not going to bow to this kind of inflated price any more. The message will get around ,we might then be able to buy at the appropriate price.
