The bloke literally always just picks someone who has scored and their team has won. That’s usually the basis for inclusion with a few minor nuances.
This time out he’s not only gone for someone who didn’t score at all but he’s also somehow squeezed in Son and Diaz who got a goal each over BBD who got two goals and an assist.
He’s obviously deigned us unworthy of mention or by not winning it’s given him an ‘out’.
Honestly, it even feels more sinister. If another pundit ignored 2 black players who scored, with one scoring twice in favour of a white player who didn’t, questions would start to be asked as to what they had to do to be included. Because the roles are reversed it feels like too much hassle to bring it up.
Or perhaps he’s incompetent or still got a bee in his bonnet about us upsetting the natural order years back and he’s happier to ignore us now we’re back to his coined phrase of Sheffield United NGE!
