We fucked off after Rotterdam we had seen enough lol. They were feyenoord and Sparta fans what attacked us lol

Den haag are mental and old zuiderpark stadium was miles from the city centre .
They are like zulus they come at you from allover
I transfered my hotel from Rotterdam to den haag that night and it was hell .
Let's put it this way , lots of police horses but first time I've ever seen a tank.
I have all the photos and newspaper cuttings.
They escorted about 50 of us from a bar bowling alley to the ground 500 yards away and we had huge police protection.

Wasn't sparta that attacked us. Sparta are friendly as and we drank and sang together in their club bar .
I got invited to the koop- sparta ground the day after and they gave me gifts.
When all blades went home after sparta it was a couple of us handsworth and a few Retford and Buxton blades.
Plenty of Middlesbrough and a few Blackburn.
Feyenoords main man was called GOOFY he turned up in every bar we were in mouthing off feyenoord had done the blades ...
I just laughed but this is true)))) I went to feyenoord v Boro, day after and goofy was on my train ..he asked me if boro had a mob
To me boro have best mob going but all boro were families on s break
Then I got a tram to excelsior who are the 3rd team in Rotterdam v a Blackburn mixed team ad Blackburn main team were at sparta.
Goofy was on my tram and asked me if blackburn had a mob .
That night goofy and his pals followed us blades around the pubs.
Warned me about den haag but fuk it I wouldn't have missed it for my life.
My final day I was at den haag Station heading to Brussels but I wanted to visit antwerp and mechelen grounds.
I had to change at rotterdam and goofy was there
Feyenoord were were playing at Reading in a friendly and loads of em were on my bloody train

Woodhouse George pub & cotts fc football team. 60/40 Split. Handsworth much bigger blade area

More like 80/20 (no idea on football team)
I live in Woodhouse and was from Handsworth
Back in the 70s you could count the number of pigs on one hand that attended Beaver Hill

Brook school
Handsworth/woodthorpe/Richmond
Sean bean attended there - a blade
Dane Whitehouse attended there - blade
Tom Bailey the lead singer of the Thompson twins a big band in the 80s was our music teacher

Did goofy ask ya if reading had a mob 😂. I agree from what I’ve seen and red in different books about what you’ve said about boro. And it was mainly feyenoord what came at us next to that river where there was loads of blades not wanting any trouble but they wernt having it. Can’t recall if a blade got knifed. It was a long time ago

Rumours went around a blade was stabbed HENCE they laid buses on after the game .
Most blades went to Amsterdam after bug a fair few handsworth and darnall and Retford roamed around rotterdam .
We were refused entry to every nightclub as told feyenoord were out for us .
My hotel was in the docks , a rough area but no fuker bothered us there .
The Irish bar in the centre was where feyenoord were out for blades , boro, Blackburn but from I witnessed all were then den haag wud wipe the floor with feyenoord

Watch the old Danny dyer series
Football factories.
Watch the east midlands one
Forest v derby .
I'm mates here with all derby dlf nutters thru work and 7 years here and pubs.
99% are top lads , Neptune run by kirky awesome ,
Only one twat has issues with me and its Thommo from the series .
As soon as he found out I was a blade he's been on my case. He detests sheffutd cos of the Neptune and collisiem incidents where blades trashed both .
I bump into him all the time , his mouth is unreal .
The rest are sound. They drink at the Bedford Arms at stockbrook in derby knowhere near city centre.
Thommo is a d.j at the metro bar on a Sunday. I seriously can't stand him

The derby incident if I recall correctly (I wasn’t there ) but know a lot what we’re was when Utd had been at Coventry and stopped of at derby on the way back ? Is that the same incident ?

Yes
I also wasn't there as I'd gone by train with a few blades and went to Leicester by train after . Blades had around 600 lads out in Coventry and I knew nothing of the stopping off in derby till my mobile went .
I moved to derby over 7 years ago and all derby lads talk about is blades trashing there pubs . The reason blades did it was revenge as a derby stag do in sheffield they attacked a few blades near the crucible.
Also derby attacked a few young blades in skegness.
As mentioned I know all their main old faces and all are great with me in everyway except Thommo.
None of there lads drink in the city centre .
A message to blades is don't drink round derby train station it's a shithole .
The city centre is a 15 minute walk away loads of real ale pubs .
Derby drink at stockbrook

With one match to go and an average of 30,009 , are we going to break this figure ? Only been done a handful of times in my 50+ years going to the Lane , and , as most will be aware , hasn't been attained in 55+ years by the S6 lot .

By my reckoning we need 29,838 for the Spurs game . Usually there is an upturn in numbers for the final game of the season , but have we put the kibosh on this with performances and charging over £40 for the remaining adult tickets ?

Our average is currently 30,155, so we only need 27,216.
Even with hardly any pay on the day sale, we're gauranteed over 28K.

So in other words we're guarantee to finish with an average attendance above 30K again.

Fuck the pigs , let's get back to us.
Does it break down like this :
23k STs
3k away fans
So that's 26k
So around 4.5k for walk-ups.
Looking at the BLUT last week , which has at least 3k (if not more) of the walk-up seats , i can't believe more than 1,000 were in there.
So even if every other walk-up (1.500) was sold , I can't see the gate was more than 28.5k v Forest.
I suspect we won't achieve enough v Spurs to make the 30k average.
We don't have a lot of floating support that comes in when we're winning promotion - I don't know why not , coz the BLUT is the best view in football , high up but not in the clouds , steep rake , close to pitch - you are literally sitting over the goalie's shoulder.
Newcomers are treated to an excellent seat anywhere in the BLUT.
And still we can't fill it very often , not even in the PL - mystery to me.

Pegster provided the incorrect data.

We only need 27,216 to finish above Spurs.
There's no way we're getting our lowest crowd of the season in our final match with a sold out award end.
If no one buys a single match day ticket think we're on 27K already.

Basically averaging over 30K is guaranteed, which is another great effort.

this is an unpopular opinion i know but we should do same as wednesday by giving away fans more seats at the lane end unless its a big game theres rarely more than 1k blades in the blut and despite having a fantastic view the atmosphere is awful theres usually plenty of room in our other 3 stands to accomodate the numbers we have up there

Last time we were in the Championship we averaged nearly 29K when our capacity was restricted down to 30,200 for most of that season.
Basically the vast bulk of matches were either a home sell out or very close to it, usually a few 100 in the BLUT extreme edges.

Shame we didn't get any points for it.

What a bloody pointless discussion this is.

(especially as I've been closing Leeds fans down for years by telling em that you don't get any points for people through the turnstiles)

Sheffield football will always be second rate until the two clubs merge into one. Controversial and unpopular, I know, but neither team will ever challenge the top 6 consistently until it happens. If supporters of both teams are happy with a two club city yo-yo existence, then fair enough. I think I probably am but I'm not as opposed as most to the dreaded 'M word' as most.

Agree....I would have hated a merger when younger....a sacrilege kind of thought
but now I'm older I'm more pragmatic, using my head more than emotion and heart.

For better or worse football has changed....so do you evolve or get left behind?
United and Wednesday are like really good corner shops, that have diversified, bought the house next door, knocked the internal dividing wall down expanding in to bigger shop selling loads of extra things. The locals seem happy with that arrangement so why change?

However half the teams in the PL think more like Asda and Tesco hypermarkets, with some open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
It doesn't matter how good you try to make the corner shop...in the long run it can never compete with Asda, Lidl, Tesco, Aldi etc.

It would take a brave person to serious try to suggest a merger.
It would be like possibly having gangrene in your foot and someone cutting off your foot.
They would use the logic it's better to lose your foot then delay letting the gangrene spread so you then need to cut off your leg
and then if you leave it longer and longer...you might even die.

Another point why part of me would love a merger is to get rid of the little Sheffield minnow reputation where the FA, the PL try to hide our role in the birth of the game, so reputation wise Sheffield is a minnow with very little publicity compared to a city like Leeds.
It would be sad but part of me would love a multi billionaire to come to Sheffield with massive Champions League ambitions
where he would suggest a merger and building a 60K stadium (with scope to increase to 75K) at the level of the Spurs stadium with fantastic facilities, supertram links, making it one of the best in the world. It's about time Sheffield was put back on the world football map, with a massive museum and heavy promotion of our role in the game boosting tourism.

There's a fantastic site on YouTube called Sheffield Home of Football, where he proves that football culture started in Sheffield.
he even visits the national football museum in Manchester and unbelievably there's no mention of Sheffield in there.

I remember the corrupt then bankcrupt 5 star engineering
Dave Richards everyweek on local radio telling the world sheffield wednesday would never play sheffield united again unless it was a cup game !
Every week same old spouting drivel .
We have Chris waddle the blades have a 3 sided ground .
Same era the blades did the derby double stopped Wendy winning the title ooooops poor dave Richards.
The 3-1 at hillsboro the night match in pissing rain. The Bobby Davison night
2,000 blades marched from the punchbowl at crooked all thru hillssboro corner and now a Wendy to be seen
North stand hillsboro full of blades , southstand hillsboro full of blades .
Leppings lane , 8000 blades we literally took the rust bucket over before during and after.
The blades changed when warnock took over , we sold Marcus bent to Blackburn and warnock said put the money in an academy and ever since then we've dominated the pigs.
I can name 4 blades who have played or captained england since but can't name one piggy player.
Blades fans turn up everyweek not just for Wembley
Jog on pig
Don’t forget that lad having a dump on their centre spot and at the same time adding value to their ground 🤣

I just pop on at times to see the record breakers.
i also pop on to porktalk now and again and it was only 6 weeks ago pig fans were slagging the club off and resigned to going back to the pub league now your all having tattoos to celebrate finishing 20th in the championship its laughable 6 easy points for the blades next season utb ftp ⚔️⚔️⚔️

So , you use a site that 'prides itself on accurate stats' and has our ground capacity at 33,000 !! Ok .

It appears the difference in data results from attendances for 2 matches . Newcastle , 31,127 on the site you used , 30,568 on mine and Arsenal , 32,050 on yours , 29,980 on mine . Unless we got special dispensation to increase our capacity for the Arsenal game , then your attendance is clearly wrong . A quick check on the BBC site agree with my figures .

No need to apologise Sheffsteel , we all make mistakes :)
