Not me personally but as a supporter?

I'm speaking with regard to season ticket holders, because I'm at a crossroads as to whether to renew.
There's a very logical argument which says that paying money into the club and adding to the attendances legitimizes the utter train wreck that is the ownership of the club.
Then again, the Saturday ritual of meeting mates and having a few jars and socializing is one of the few indulgences I allow myself. The football has been secondary for quite some time for obvious reasons.

Some have advocated direct action, which I am very much in favour of, but is this not rendered meaningless if you're handing over your money to a regime you want out, or at the very least change it's approach?

Simple. Meet your mates, enjoy a beer... and stay in the pub. I wished I had yesterday.

The alternative of dumping on your mates time and football is unthinkable though.

If you delay getting your ST you have to pay 25% more so the only realistic option is buy your ST be there and protest

I think you'd be better of trying some action that would have an impact. Do something inside the ground.

Its simple...go cold turkey...dont renew meet your mates away from a saturday and end up not even realising who or when we are playing...for the first time in living memory, I would guess the whole of the team could walk part me and ibwould revognise billy and mebbe brayford...

and you know what...ive given up...I look for the result most weeks, read all the addicts on here and chuckle away remembering how I used to be the same...

Everyone could leave their renewal until the very last day of the renewal window.

I'd support the ticket office staff in their subsequent walkout over conditions.

By the time you are asking this it's already far too late. You're fucked, same as the rest of us.

Having worked on a Saturday for years and years I've long since been able to attend or even consider a season ticket.

I'm still elated when we get the last minute winner at Colchester or play Bradford off the park like I'm disappointed when we get results like yesterday...or Peterborough, Crewe, Shrewsbury....the list goes on! I just think how much better off I am financially regarding the latter.

Truth is, we've been dire for years and still sold our better players having consistently got 20k through the gates. You're basically putting across the message, it's ok treat us like dirt, we'll still continue to turn up, put money in the accounts whilst your Collins and Sammon's attempt to keep us in the dizzy heights of tenth in league 1.

The message won't hit home till people say enough is enough and say I'm not funding this shambles anymore. Five years of great support and we aren't rewarded with the centre half we've needed 18 months or a midfielder whose primary role might just be create a chance or score a goal!

We deserve better, you deserve better so I'd save your money, get to the pub with your mates and watch the scores roll in on soccer Saturday instead.

Should the club start making an attempt to start some kind of genuine attempt again at progression you can always buy a ticket on the gate. If we're actually performing that well you'll not begrudge the extra outlay.

There are two ways of looking at it:

By not going you are showing your displeasure and if enough people renew it may force some kind of change.

Or, by continuing to attend, there is a better chance of attracting another buyer or further investment once KM has got rid of the prince, or vice versa.

I'm not an ST holder and I think that diminishes the validity of my opinion, I can't tell others to do what I won't. But I do wonder what the real outcome of reducing attendances will be. Will the board suddenly start chucking more money at it? And if they do, will it help or will it be as effective as the last lot of investment? Is money the problem or is it competence? If it's competence, whose, the succession of managers or the boards? Or both?

You've answered your question.
The football's secondary...get yer sen renewed and stick with yer mates...unless you don't renew on mass!

In which case please feel free to 'storm the winter palace' and kick em out!

You need to keep going Tyler as if you and a certain few others who post on here stopped going there would be many less pearls of wisdom and banter that makes it worthwhile looking on the Internet for something other than porn:) fook knows what would happen if we actually started winning though as no one would have anything to post about:rolleyes: anyway what else would you do on a Saturday that still means you can still get a pass from the wife and rather than her be annoyed she feels genuinely sorry for you:D

But that's like refusing to vote in a general election then complaining about what politicians are doing.
So by that little pearl of wisdom then, just because I won't give any of the fuckers my vote cos I don't trust any of them to do what's best for the country and not themselves and their cronies - I shouldn't have any interest in what they don't do for the country and shouldn't moan and complain when they fuck up and it has a negative effect on me and my lifestyle? Likewise, just because I won't be taken for a mug any longer and have stopped going to games, I stop being a Blade and shouldn't care about the club I've supported for 45 years and don't have a right to moan and complain when the owners fuck up time and time again?

Your post is like trying to say something that you think is profound, witty and intelligent but just coming out with bollocks.

Correct ;)

An almost total boycott of our games has usually led to a change in ownership, at other clubs as well.
The problem with a new owner is they would usually ask to have someone from the old regime familiar with the club hanging around in an advisory capacity.

Can you imagine the scenario.
New Owner............I am going to sign some top quality players
McCabe.................Our fans don't like quality, they like rough and ready, get in yer face type of players. I'll call Montgomery and see what he's up to.

New Owner...........I want to instill a certain style of play, with quality, skill, power, pace and ability
McCabe................Oh don't do that, our fans would much rather see a bunch of crap, cheap players giving 150%

New Owner............The kop is a bit of a mess, lets knock it down and rebuild it tying in Cherry Street and John Street properly.
McCabe.................No, that would mean it's not a kop and our fans like their kop.

New Owner............I am in the process of tying up an enormous sponsorship deal with a multi national company.
McCabe.................Our fans only like local Sheffield companies to sponsor us, it's the Blaaayyyddeess Waahyyy

New Owner...........Has there ever been any ambition to win anything
McCabe................Winning things comes at a price, our fans don't agree with big fees or big wages, they also don't believe in dealing with agents.

New Owner...........This club is retarded
McCabe................I know but our fans like it that way

I'll say one thing for this board.
They certainly know how to Unite the fans!
