.......in current history of football?

Apart from Blackpool who have a strong history we must be the club that has fallen further than any other in the history of football and we are still in reverse. I'm no football historian or statto, are there any other clubs who have fallen further from grace than us?

Bit of a strange OP. But Pompey and Wimbledon.

Dynamo Berlin, Pro Vercelli, Third Lanark, Belfast Celtic. There's been loads :)

How does 'current history' work anyway? Is that a bit like the distant present? o_O

Third Lanark then & now, you are right, they have fallen further than us, by some way.

Fourth Lanark played in the West Highland Wee-Jock-Poo-Pong-McPlop League and won the SFA 'Ploppy' trophy in 1937. Much of their team were enlisted into the 4th Highland Kilters Regiment which saw acton in Monte Casino, Singapore and Govan. After the war they continued to play (twelve of their squad were captured by the Japs and are still in a PoW camp in Burma somewhere) with just six players until they merged with Fifth and Sixth Lanark to form 'Wee Bastards Athletic' (one player and a goalkeeper and groundsman respectively) who played at Tartan Park playing fields until 1942 when the ground was sold to erect tenements and slums for the purpose of telling exaggerated stories and embellishing drink fuelled rants at the English.

The Wee Bastards merged again with the remnants of First Lanark to form Glasgow Rangers, a highly successful and in no way corupt football outfit overseen by some or other ex-Sheff Utd businesman for the purpose of allowing into decline and slump, much to the consternation of hundreds of thousands of Glasgwegians in their native London abodes.

What???? Do you mean all the way down to League 3 with crowds of 20,000, a huge budget?

Good grief Blade56 are you a glass completely empty kind of fan? o_O

Yes, we're shit. We're fucking shit. We were shit yesterday and we'll be shit tomorrow.

Yes but what about the day after tomorrow?

Our problem is that hope perpetually wins over experience. It's what keeps us coming back for more.
Yes, I've got a mate who's a Cambridge fan, dedicated too, and if I moaned to him about our predicament he'd just laugh, like I do at my Spurs mates when they moan about Levy.

Got to keep believing though haven`t we?, no logical reason to go week in, week out :(

We're more than that mate - we're invisible.

Try looking in any national paper for any article about United, the only mentions are of ex-players.

Remember how we'd occasionally sing "you're shit and you know you are" to away fans. Well now, that's us that is.

Are we talking about our expectations on failure or the clubs, I get the impression they don't see it in the same way we do. UTB

I think clubs like Stoke,Southampton,Leicester etc give us hope that one day it can happen to us...

Yes but they bounced back, we always jump into quick sand. They used their lowest ebb as a spring board to better things.
