Long Interview with Wilder. Very honest review of the season and says boardroom situation needs sorting quickly one way or the other. I for one have questioned a couple of Wilder's recent decisions but his honesty and straight talking nature make him difficult to criticise. So refreshing to hear a manager who is so honest, says what we all think and even admits he gets things wrong. Still wouldn't call this season "outstanding" as Chris does but there is no question he's the man to continue leading us forward. Enjoy. UTB

Why wouldn't he? Its been a long hard season but a successful one, the summer will be a great chance to build on what we have
At the very worst (for him) his reputation has gone through the roof. He'll be delighted - he's in a no lose situation. If the board don't support him he gets to move on guilt free. If they do support him he gets to build a realistic challenge for prem football.

Agreed totally. I had an irrational Blade-like fear that he was going to break down infront of Giddings and- in an emotional cry for help- reveal the boardroom shenanigans are tearing everything apart and that he fears the end is nigh.

So its nice to hear him content.

...if the boardroom bullshit get's sorted "one way or another".
If i recall McCabe himself said that it was at an impasse, however sooner or later the pair will sit down and work out the deal.

McCabe himself basically said that they haven't really spoken. I don't think a fall out was mentioned, though i'd be happy to be corrected here

Listening to CW's thoughts about the here and now as well as the future, it reminded me of Wilder's often repeated comment about being loyal but not sentimental. Whatever's going on between the two owners they need to ensure that there are clear lines of communication with Chris. Anything less and whatever plans CW might have will fade as KW and the Prince become absorbed in their ownership wrangle. Wilder will be well aware of these pitfalls, so I hope the owners act like adults and give this club a chance to compete at a level we're capable of doing well in.

I think Chris was very guarded about Holmes. One way or another, Holmes has had little opportunity to impress, apart that is from the one game at Wolves where he exceeded the performances of those around him. At that precise moment I'd have thought that Holmes would have thought that he'd at least get another start, but sadly no, so we've had one of our most talented players on the bench and probably wondering what he has to do to impress the manager. Don't misunderstand me, I'm a huge Wilder fan and think that all the while Chris is at the helm of this club we'll move forward. As for this season we've made progress. We have a decent squad, not perfect by a long mile, but the addition of 5 or 6 better than average players and I think we'l see this team do far more than simply compete at this level, I think that we could give ourselves a great chance to capture a promotion place next season.

Best manager we've had in decades - I know that may upset one or two on here (can't think who to be honest), but what does matter is the quality and potential of the man in charge. If anyone doubts Wilder's capabilities or wonders about his potential, then I can only guess that we may be talking about a completely different individual. For my money Wilder is exactly the right guy to take us forward. Of course there's room for improvement, but for christ's sake, since CW took control we've gone from bottom of Division 1 to being worthy contenders in the Championship top 10. This has been a long campaign, and as Wilder knows, mistakes are the thing we all learn from. So here's to next season. I hope Chris buys players who will offer more threat, even more creativity, and that our defence learns to focus for the full duration. Like many of us I hope we make a successful bid for Jamal, he's been a top player since he arrived on loan and gives us a keeper capable of improving our defence. There's so much to look forward to, so fellow Blades, here's to a new and rewarding season. UTMB!

I’d say it has been outstanding, given my expectations.

I’d fallen for the la liga crap, and anything above relegation was a target.

We’ve gone on to prove that we can more than hold our own, and given a bit of luck / time / investment could easily push on.
