leaking soft goals. not got decent cover. armstrong is shit. We have geary and morgan. now we need a good left back and a center half with pace. Midfielder we could do with a defensive one. We dont need strikers, its getting like warnock era with them all.

What can I say about today?
I was fully optimistic for the start of the day, looking forward to seeing a performance that we could have a good conversation about......
Well...... the conversation will only evolve around how poor we was.
Kenny..... did well in the majority, seemed a bit wary about coming for ball again though.
Bromby..... don't know what he was doing for the goal, strange technique to say the least. Giving away a foul throw too...... I know he didn't have much space for run up, but come on.
Armstrong was awful, Gillespie needs dropping and kicking out the squad. Webber couldn't cope with their brute force. Beattie didn't have a sniff, stead was poor.
What disappoints me most is that we stooped to their level in playing hoof ball. I thought we was past this kinda play.
Tonge was the best player on our team today but even then he was poor too.
I can normally take positives out of a game, but today I just can't.
Well, bring on the baggies BOING BOING so to speak
and just one further thing, just before they scored their goal, inept refereeing provided a goal kick for Watford when it was clear that the keeper had knocked it out for a corner.

Think thats very harsh on a player who was so isolated throughout, who was also up against one of the most physical back lines in the league. At least he kept on going till the end.
One goal in 2 performances and after a game where he came equal closest to scoring with Stead, he needs dropping because he "needs to pick his game up"? I dread to think the chopping and changing we'd have with you in charge!
I didnt go, but from what Ive been told Monty had the worst game in the history of Monty gaffs.
He cant pass a football, how can Robson expect this side to a play decent passing game when people like Monty and Leggy give the ball away at every attempt?
The midfield seriously needs major improvement, a new central midfielder and a new right winger are badly needed, Keef is past it.

thats it montys had a bad game and sharpys in here like a whippet. why wasnt you calling for him out when we were in the prem, you know when we were winning games with him in the side, tackling and passing?
I think legs of wood should have played instead of Monty he had a good game against chesterfield. You can tell Keith has got his contract doesn't give a shit any more. everyone was shit other than killgallon thought he did well at the back. Do you think we will stay up?

Im pretty sure Ive always said exactly the same about him, althought he has improved greatly of late.
Where did I say I want him out? I dont think he's good enough to be starting every game but as a squad player he's fine.

This is what makes me laugh about some of our fans, and I'm not saying it about you by the way.
We've made a poor start, and we're now going to be shit and Robson is shit and whatever else, Man Utd have made a best start but people still think they'll win the league!
From what I heard on the radio a lot of the time Beattie was in a defensive postion... so no wonder we never did nowt when a strikers in defence.

He chased back alot because Webber and Gillespie were being too lazy.
Gillespie never broke sweat all game.

I'm afraid in this instance and for one of the first times I have to agree with young Sharpy.
I love Monty, never used to, but he is awful at times. And yesterday was possibly his worst performance ive ever seen. BUT I dont wanna jump on the bandwagon because i feel he still has a strong future with us.
But our midfield does need sorting. I don't think there was much wrong with defence because they didn't have that much to contend with. but what they did have they didn't do much with.

Got to see my first live match in over 20 yrs, then had to fly home so I may just be writing this for myself.
Kenny is a great shot-stopper as he proved against Henderson, but seems unwilling to command his 6 yard box, leaving it to Morgs and Killa to head the ball. Really needed him not to indulge his desire to kick the ball long which fitted Watford's style, rather have him throw short and make Watford run for the ball.
I like Bromby BUT when not heading the ball he was easily beaten on the ground and often hit the ball long when in possession, usually missing everybody. On the goal he did a "you go, no I'll go. OK you go, no OK I'll go" with Killa. As a result Henderson had time to walk down the wing (he's not fast) and pick out his player. A glorious goal for Watford, but no goal if Bromby had just picked up his man. The drop off in quality from Geary is just not worth the risk. Geary played left back in the 2nd half and Watford struggled to get past him!
Morgs was his usual solid self, took his man down and out, did not mess around - no gap there!
Killa took on King and did a good job most of the time, saved our bacon a couple of times, but the one time King got away he only missed a goal by inches.
Based on games to date my wife does not think much of Gillespie, but playing a more defensive role in a mid-field three she acknowledged he made quite a contribution to our attempt to play football. Not sure where all this shite talk comes from given the role he had to play.
Monty was his usual aggressive self, when he had someone 5 yrds away to pass to he was fine but when he needed to find somebody he didn't. I do not understand why Fahti does not get a look in, he is quick, skilled and can hit hard.

Stead worked himself into the ground, chased all the stupid long balls and eventually ran out of steam. Why can't people play to his feet, he doesn't lose the ball and can beat a man, he must be very frustrated.
Webber had his moments but did not look like a player confident about his moves, tip tap passes were often picked up by their defence, lacked crispness.
Beatie really did try but was constantly flattened by Shittu and bullied out of the game. I was amazed by how much pushing the ref allowed to happen. As a result a blatant push on Armstrong in the penalty area could only be ignored. Using your opponent as a bench was clearly kosher.
We did not try to play football much in the 2nd half, had no width, so I was surprised it took Robson so long to change what was not working. Then shocked that he chose to take Stead off. Webber was making little progress, at least Stead was a threat. Overall, we need Lucketti back, Geary in and someone in midfield who thinks first about passing the ball and makes the opposition take the ball off us rather then punting it down to their GK. I think we need the width and support of a 4-4-2, we are not playing enough football to sustain the 4-3-3.

As for MOTM I picked Armstrong as he was quite solid at fullback and got involved when he was moved into mid-field. A few slip-ups like everybody else, it's never easy to play in the rain, but a consistent effort all round. Whoever voted for Bomby must have been at another match.
