Sheffield Wednesday U23s (2016/17 National Champions of the U23 Professional Development League) visit Bramall Lane tonight (Monday 1 November 2021 7pm) to play Sheffield United U23s (who have never won that National Title). Admission is free to Season Ticket Holders, or £3, £1 Concessions.

While former National Champions, Sheffield Wednesday, are not doing so well this season, rivals Sheffield United are currently in a play off position.

Nicksoen Gomis (9 appearances in the league & cup) Oliver Arblaster, Zak Brunt (both 8) & Kacper Lopata (4) are all on loan out of the club. Although under certain circumstances are still allowed to play ... weird ...
But, we should expect a weakened team. So a good chance to make snap judgements on 17 year old kids who have only played 20 minutes & tout them for the first team. (As appears to be the current trend on So Meed).
It's clear the first team need a strong tackling defensive screen midfielder. If only there was a chance Regan Slater might play tonight.
Hope to see some of you there.....

Is it too early to mention Rhian Brewster?
cant understand brewster not being used for our u23s when hes not even in the first team squad surely a run of 3 or 4 games and a goal or 2 at this level would boost his confidence

Surely it's about time Wednesday had a reunion for their 2016 champions.

They have "bounce" games for the real reserves don't they?

Joe Starbuck and Angelo Capello look so composed very impressed so far 👌

2 -0 Blades

Frankie Maguire, lovely curler right into the corner of the net.

Great goal for the second. I'd rather these played Forest to be honest.

It's pretty much the opposite of watching the first team. Defended well and two clinical finishes.
Think Wednesday will feel they've been unlucky so far tonight.

3 - 0 massive howler from the young Pig keeper, kicked the ball straight into Capello and the ball rebounds in.

Get in!
Keeper cock ups must run through their ranks. That was a shocker but good closing down though.
