CONFIRMED Patrick Bamford

I guess you can always hope for a miracle, but this signing seems absolutely pointless. Pure desperation which I guess is understandable in the current situation.
I hope the January signings will be a bit more forward thinking.

On the clubs official Insta post where he says “Hi” to the fans, he looks like he’s in the midst of renovating a 1970s bathroom and someone has given him a red curtain 🤣🤣🤣

I’ve posted a separate thread about this as for me it’s the principle worry about this signing.

We currently have four forwards who never look like they are ever going to score.
What should we do?
I know, sign a fifth who hasn't scored for two years! Job done.
It shrieks of desperation.
At least it's only a short term deal. I suppose all we as fans can do is hope for the best. But as it's us, I'll expect the worse.

While Wednesday have the title of the most deluded fan base and rightly so.
We must be near the top of the league for having the most fanny's.

We are desperate for a Striker the Strikers we have couldn't score in Bangkok, we can only sign unattached players until January.

We have signed a player who might or might not help our situation from the small pool of players available now.

Anyone would think we have signed him on a 5 year deal on 100k a week the way some are going off.

It's for 7 weeks and you never now he might chip in with a goal that gets us 3 points.

As for anything he's done in the past I don’t care, its what he does in a United that matters.
Absolutely spot on.
There’s no jeopardy here,only a potential upside.
Some right mardy …ts on here.

Could field an international first XI!

Davies (Wales)

McGuinness (Ireland)
Zatterstrom (Sweden)
Binnon (NZ)
Ben Godfrey (England)

Chong (Curacao)
Riedewald (Holland)
Ogbene (Ireland)

Ings (England)
Bamford (England)

Nailed on autos with that starting 11

🤔

This has all the hallmarks of a relegation season now. I'll predict it now - he'll make 3 sub appearances, no goals, and maybe even a red card to throw in for good measure.

There is no way he is fully fit, having not played a game since May, and not started a game since August 2024.

I get the arguments about it being a difficult market, but it's not like we're going to be paying him nothing either is it? If he was just wanting to play football there's someone who would have took him on by the middle of November, the fact they haven't says a lot for his fitness and his wage demands.

LUFC News taking it rather well. Dare I dream he has a fabulous 2 seasons with us and scores against them next season when they're relegated. Funny old game.

Dear Patrick,
Congratulations.
You’ve actually managed the impossible.
Not scoring an open goal? Expected.
Missing a penalty? Standard procedure.
Getting injured clapping the fans? Classic Bamford behaviour.
But choosing to leave Leeds United for Sheffield bloody United…
That, Patrick, is a new personal best.
Honestly, we didn’t think you could drop lower than some of those finishing attempts, but here we are, you’ve nutmegged even our lowest expectations.
You could’ve gone anywhere:
– America
– Spain
– A quiet Championship loan where nobody’s watching
– Early retirement in the Cotswolds
But no. You sat there and thought, “hmm… what’s the most disrespectful option available?”
And signed for that lot.
The club where football goes to suffer.
The club whose highlight of the decade was simply “kicking people.”
The club players join when they want to know what it feels like to play in a windy supermarket car park.
We tried with you, Patrick. Oh, we TRIED.
We defended you when you missed sitters from six yards.
We chanted your name when you tripped over your own feet.
We even convinced ourselves your “hold-up play” was something more than accidental chest control.
And THIS is the repayment?
Joining a side whose tactical philosophy is basically run about a bit and hope someone falls over.
Fine.
Enjoy Bramall Lane.
Enjoy the hoofball.
Enjoy fans who’ll turn on you after one bad touch so violently you’ll be begging for the safe embrace of Elland Road therapy sessions.
And if you happen to score against us?
No hard feelings.
We’ll just assume it bounced in off your shin.
Sincerely,
A Leeds United fanbase going through all five stages of grief; rage being the main one.
P.S.
Try not to get injured walking out of the tunnel.
We genuinely worry.

With the shambolic absence of any leadership, management structure or apparent plan...the almost entire squad of (let's be honest) woefully substandard new faces...the comedy dance with Wilder...the lack of any fight or spirit on the pitch...the ticket prices being mental...and most of my work clashing with matches...

I've been struggling to maintain any interest in the club, let alone build up any excitement.

This is a pretty large straw on the pretty knackered back of an already pretty tired camel.

We are absolutely desperate for a match fit striker.

This really is 2010-11 redux.i seem to recall us signing the corpse of Marcus Bent then as we romped to a needless relegation.

Yes . I said it stunk like 2010/11 after five games. The next move is to sack the manager and discover that Harry Potter wouldn't get more from this sack of s... Probably before the JTW so the new man comes in blind and makes the wrong moves in the market.

That said I'm not against this move as a stop gap.

I knew we had an outstanding squad, but I am obviously not experienced enough to have spotted it !
