So this is Christmas so to speak. It appears that some in the forum have excellent recall of their earliest days as Blades fans, not I, save to say that I've been a Blade since the 50's and the first manager I remember was Joe Mercer (later to become more famous as the manager of Manchester City). His first game in charge of United was a 5 nil drubbing at Newcastle. Asked after what he thought of the team's performance he reckoned we were lucky to get nil!
Looking back we've had some sad, bad and at times mad managers but the present incumbent - feel free to disagree if you like - is the saddest, baddest and maddest of the lot!
I should say at this point that over time it is quite likely that I may display a certain amount of animosity towards our "Fatty" Foulkes lookalike. Also whilst on the subject of under achievers could anyone tell me what Andy Leaning's role is during a game other than to make Mr B look a tad less rotund than the legendary Mr Foulkes.
That's all for now for it's well turned 11.00pm and I should have been in bed hours ago (I like to have a couple of hours sleep before I'm up for my first pee at about midnight).
Good night to you all
Mary Christmas
PS On reflection and considering it is my first post I do feel I have been a little too harsh on simply rubbishing Mr B and Mr L .............. I realise that I have not mentioned useless Eustace or should I say his former "team" mate useless Ellis the third of the three "wise" monkeys - hear all, see all and know nowt.
