MLS coach of the year for Philadelphia Union - they won the MLS on one of the smallest budgets in the league last year, Jim is a plucky underdog manager who supports and manages his home team where he has been for the past 4 years (ring any bells?)

Decent shout tbf. Can't see it though, think the board will appoint someone from one of the European leagues, or a foreigner fmiliar with the European leages (and I don't mean the PL or Champinship) such as Blessin more than someone who obviously is familiar with the U.S. Who knows though!

Can I be the first to say - work permit?

Don't know his figures but the MLS is classed as a top league so if he's done 24 months continuously or 36 months in total in the last 5 years he qualifies on that front.

Would then be down to what coaching qualifications he has?

Will our next manager be successful or is it Curtin's for our chances of promotion?

Imagine if he brought his brother in as assistant.

Wow but it’s league one standard would never have guessed that, must have been written by a yank
Like with everything in football the spectre of commercial opportunities is never far away in the decision making process and America is seen as a major growth market by all major European leagues hence all the top preseason friendlies played over there.

Are you sure he’s American and not Venetian?
And will his wife Annette enjoy swapping Philly for Sheffield?

Rod

He's a draw specialist.
hmmm that's a no then... it was a speculative idea, we need to be looking outside of the box a bit if Blessin is a no go.

Jesse Marsch is another MLS export doing really well at RB Salzburg and courted by Celtic atm (someone else we could go for but might be too high profile for us) goes to show that their is some talented MLS managers who could potentially make the move - might be a pool we could look at
