Heckingbottom got it massively wrong

Cos would have been wrong.

MGW had ice pack attached to leg after Blackbum rovers.

Was that an injury ?

How could he not play Mgw n sander from start today?
I dunno as I don't have the info hecky has, but I trust his judgement.
Today didn't work out, it'll happen now and then given the injuries, and looking after the players we have left. He has to plan for the run in, not just the next game.
If we fall short then so be it. But I'd hate for us to go into the play offs with a bunch of tired or injury carrying players.

injuries must have had a bearing on his selection because it is well known by many that McBurnie and Sharp never works ,never has and never will. As for rotating the squad excuse that cant be true either otherwise why is a 36 year old playing every match? Must be that without him we won't score. Resting 21 year olds but not 36 year olds hardly adds up so must be injuries that have had a bearing on selection.

The whole team looked lethargic and not one player put a shift in. HTF are Luton above us, one of the weakest teams I’ve seen when we played them.

Can see next 2 games being LD

The side is decimated by injury. We'll do well to grab sixth place. That in itself is quite an achievement given where we were not so long ago. Without all these long term injuries I think we'd be well assured of a play off spot and would have got something yesterday.

I think we can put this result down to injuries and tiredness in the squad at the end of which has been a punishing month of two games per week.

I’m cool with resting players and rotating. That midfield has worked in a few games previously. It’s the McBurnie/Sharp partnership that’s the issue. I don’t know how many times it has to be tried before it’s consigned to the bin permanently.
When Sharp and McBurnie play up front together it’s confusing as to what the their roles are. Ollie isn’t the target man type player to flick on balls to Billy and often comes short to pick up the ball (mainly losing possession) This isolates Billy and makes it easier to mark him. Also, there is a lack of interplay between them both, which is part of playing them as a front two. When was the last time we all thought ‘lovely play between Sharp and McBurnie’ it just doesn’t happen. We will always support them as Blades players but I think it’s now generally accepted that the pairing just doesn’t work.

UTB.

He did when celebrating the goal but at full time he rips it off and runs on the pitch and seemed to be moving ok.

But how does McB get ahead of Jebbo? McBs job is to SCORE goals, ultimately. We should be putting our strongest side out, so strikers who are on better form should be picked if fit.. That's simply one basic example that was wrong.

Jebbo may and should get his chance now....we have been really good of late and I do understand the rotation policy...what I don’t get is mcburnie ...simply not good enough. Football is littered with one season wonders and we should add him to list....

Let's hope Hecky accepts it too!!!

When MGW Norwood and Berge start the next game, whoever plays up front will be well supplied with chances, or they will create openings for others by drawing defenders away?
I hope Jebbo gets a start or an early appearance from the bench.

Otherwise he could have got more game time at Burton.

Call me old fashioned, but after such an exhilarating result in midweek. Why would you make so many unnecessary changes to a winning team. Sander was sublime on Wednesday night...Why put him on the bench...Or was Hecky taking Millwall for granted.

Cause they were struggling for fitness. If we played them and they were then out for 6 months would you be happy then.

Based on the result on Saturday compared to the Blackburn and Swansea ones, it's plain to see for me that we need at least one of MGW or Berge in the starting team. Even if Sander or MGW can only manage an hour, its got to be better than having Norwood and Hourihane together which doesn't seem to work.

They're neat and tidy footballers but they don't offer any goal threat to the opposition, everything they do is in front of the defence, there's never a run beyond, they pass the ball and admire it.

It makes perfect sense if the 36 year old is in great shape and the 21 year old has been out with an injury.
