Wilder has said he needs 2 CBs. However, I can't imagine that both will be first teamers. The EEL replacement will compete with Wright for the sweeper role but the other will probably be a replacement for Wison. i.e. a back up centre half. Therefore, it would make sense for that player to be young with potential to improve. Having just read Roygbiv's view from update, it seems he's developing into a very promising centre half there and still only 21. He looked good in the RCB role for them against us and has started to make those Maguire/ JOC esque driving runs out from the back. If the first centre half we sign is an experience, high quality first team organiser type, I'd be happy with McGahey as the back up.

He did that for us, surprised when we let him go really.

Audacious suggestion. It wouldn't surprise me if Championship clubs start bidding for him within a year though.

As for CB signings, I'd say that one will come in to compete with Wright for the central position, and EEL's replacement could be EEL himself. Whoever that is will be signed to compete for a place at RCB and probably LCB too - so probably not EEL. We won't sign anyone to be back up in the way Wilson was.

I'd be OK with him coming back but sure we can find better.

Will be playing for The New Saints from Cymru Premier in the Europa Conference League this season.
By virtue of playing in a shit league and the expansion of Euro competitions. Not because he's a good player.

Shamrock Rovers have also made the group stage this year

Will he be playing against Marc McNulty, who now plays for Shamrock Rovers?
