This game is going to be the first one where the new swipe card system will be tested. Anybody on here got a card?

I believe it's just a selection of the turnstiles near the Tunnel bar that will be used on the pilot scheme.

Morgan is still out he had a 3 match ban & 1 ban for his yellow cards.Although we have Fathi who looks good by all accounts I think Warnock will be looking for another midfielder before the end of Jan.With Gillespie being out for up to 6 matches we need cover badly.Eagles for me.

i want morgan back asap!

Davis is injury prone

although lucketti has impressed me :)

The way the FA have it down, Morgan was suspended for three matches but the three match ban didn't start until the 7th January - the day after the Swansea match. So the three match ban served Portsmouth, Reading and tomorrow.

The OS have it down as a four match ban however.

All confusing :)

Anyway kids, virtual Brokelads betting is HERE

I think Seck could be good cover, but not 100% sure where NW wants him to play. Looked a bit like Claude when he played against Chengdu, got injured too :( :D :D

Well there was a load of players in republic on friday getting tanked up.

including, seck, shelton, nade

Sheff-Utd Man of the Match v. Fulham

I expect this one to be very closely contested as a number of players had a great game tonight.

Who was your Man of the Match?

You're not kidding! A very good team performance, but if I were to pick one player it would be Stead. Mind you, Monty was good too. Some of his passes were on target....

Sharpy, if Tonge can keep putting in performances like that, I don't think anyone could argue against his selection.

I think we need to get the lad on some weights though :D

Stead my man of the match!

I didnt like tongey and didnt see why he got picked but tonight he was awesome :)

i also thoguht monty had a good game :)

Ive gone for Stead aswell worked hard and got his reward.

Decent performance we didnt give Fulham anytime on the ball which is how we should be playing week in week out.

Stick to this starting 11 against Blackburn and we will cause them problems.

Also how crap did we make Browny look tonight. :)

How well did tongey play him though?

That effort in 2nd half that landed in top tier was awesome :p

Im sure he played tonge on him because he played next to him for so long and would know his game!

Yep, good team performence tonight. Just on a negative though i still feel we play far too many long balls when a simple pass is availble.

Tonge although obviously looking abit frustrated with the lack of time he got on the ball was excellent. He had Brown in his back pocket and didnt pull out of tackles. Monty did a good job aswell but his passing still lets him down at times.

Squinny played well, CKR did apart from some dodgy crosses did aswell and Geary, Hulse and Stead all did well.

Its no coincidence we are a better side when jagielka isnt in midfield either, he has got to be kept at CB.

Fantastic performance by all.
Even with the dodgy crosses I voted for CKR cos his skills and never giving up on a ball even when he was crawling on the floor were amazing.

On a Ref note, I think he bottled sending Pearce off for them cos it was a blatant foul that should have been a second yellow and Brownys shoulder charge on Tonge into his chest was well out of order.

Squinny was unfortunate not to get a goal straight from his crosses twice, which made Niemi look a bit of a pillock :D

More games like that please Mr Warnock

I agree CKR had a good game but it seems he gets everything right untill the last ball!

Do you really have to??

Just enjoy nights like tonight.......if you don't why bother??

:) :) :)
Why not? No point in getting carried away. Fulham are the worst side ive seen in years at the lane.

We played it long too much when simple passes were on, its annoying.

Great game, and best first half performance of the season in my opinion.
Second half was played out, but Fulham never looked like scoring.

Think for MOTM gonna have to go for Geary, he played well, got back, got forward, chased his man, put in some excellent challenges, and so reliable.

You could probably pick 5 or 6 who deserve it but I've gone for Jags. He was an absolute rock and the back, especially considering he was up against two of the best headers in the division for an hour but yet they didn't manage an effort on target.
I'm not a fan of Monty but he was excellent as well and I think he set the tone for the match by roughing em up in the first 20.

Anyone listen to Radio 5 phone-in last night? Some gimp "Blades fan" called in to tell Mark Lawrenson how Stephen Quinn could solve England's left-sided problem. He also mentioned how good his free-kick against Middlesbrough was. Idiot.

Didn't go, listen or see any of the game. Spoke to a few people on the bus who had obviously gone early with the time that I caught it. They were saying a good game all round but still had a few digs. One of them was CKR on the right hand side saying some of his crosses were crap and he shouldn't be playing there. I asked who they would have instead and they could only reply with Gillespie, after informing them of their short memory and gillespie being out for at least 3 games I pitched the question again and the reply was anyone but CKR. I tried again to point put the fact he is not a winger but more of a striker and surely you can't expect every ball to be perfect, and reading from the match reports it sounds like he did put some good crosses in, even the more established players whos position is on the wing doesn't put in quality crosses 100% of the time. I gave up anyway but they got off the bus soon after.

I must say, our corners seem to be getting worse and worse again.

We never have been good at corners though

I never get excited for a corner!

On the point of CKR i thought he did have a good game and i would play him on the right wing just in training get him doing more crossing practice and he would be good he has skill t go past people its just the final ball from him

I cant remember how many players he went best last night it impressed me!

Rob Hulse's sign language to him was good when a cross towards him was just overhit by CKR....

Gave him a clap to show that he appreciated his vision, but motioned downwards with both hands to tell him to calm it down a bit.

Obviously he has the skill but he seems so eager to please that he panics a bit.

I thought CKR put in some dangerous crosses last night and his corner where Jags headed wide was our best corner.

Yeh good point but its good to see him eager im sure after a few matches the panic will leave and he will be calm!

its what i like to see players wanting to please and keept there 1st team place

there is no way you could drop him after that game!
