THE FUTURE ... AS IT USED TO BE

Piss poor, once again. For such a bright start, we were fucking clumsy and error-prone in midfield and typical of any time we have an international break, seriously second best to everything. I wish FIFA/UEFA/whoever would fuck off breaking up club teams momentums in this way. Mind you, with one win in five, we can hardly call it momentum, can we? We have pissed six points away by setting for draws recently and those six points would have us seriously dominant at the top of the table. We fail with a free kick against Stoke, miss a pen against the cunts and play like the cunts against Toytown. Six points.
Today we just couldn't get into any rhythm, and the passing was dogshit. I have no idea what the idea is to lump it long to Sharp, but he aint gonna win fuck all and get on goal that way. I thought our main threat was through the midfield three and down the flanks with the overlapping CB - ttoday it was patchy and non existant for long spells.
Out of ten
Henderson 10/10: Outstanding keeper. Some world-class saves from him today and saved our draw. MotM deserved
Freeman 4.5/10: He's fading fast this bloke. He was struggling with the duty of running the usual channels against their quick winger and his passing was shitola
Basham 8/10: Good performance and unlucky with the deflection and Norwood's touch
Egan 7.5: Pretty solid but at times he was under the cross and not on his man
O'Connell 5.5/10: Thought he had a poor game to be honest. Some of his balls out of defence were wank and he seemed to have a bit of a torrid time against their front men
Stevens 6/10: Again, it was wavy hand time for him. His lunge at the end contributed to their equaliser when all he had to do was jockey, and he doesn't seem to be in those 'areas up the line where he makes the best effect
Norwood 6/10: The game seemed to bypass him and aside from a few decent toe-in challenges, I thought he was not as good as he can be
Fleck 4/10: Very poor. Caught in possession too much or just marked out of the game. Had it not been for a few decent bits like his involvement in the second goal, he'd be out worst player today
Duffy 8/10: Took his goal very, very well. You can see his value and contribution but as soon as he goes off, we are fucking dogshit once again
McGoldrick 5/10: Average marks for an average performance. Should have hammered that chance in. Strikers do that in their sleep
Sharp 3/10: Once again, a low mark not because of his performance, but because he got nowt and ran his fucking socks off. Sublime cross for the second but that is all he had, all game.
Clarke 2/10: Nuff said. Zero improvement on McGoldrick
Johnson - I'm not marking him.

We are repeating the slow deflation of last season and have two pretty vital games coming up. If we want to avoid the playoffs (which might be a good idea) we have got to change this right now and form part of a two team break away pack and drive on. Browny is right - we do need a striker and possibly more craft to get the ball to feet in the area. When we beat Wigan comprehensively (despite playing shit) we did just that, and Billy Sharp did what he does best and scored. We just don't do that and can't do that whilst we can't retain possession, string passes together and dominate the play pattern. And something has to happen to link the midfield to the strikers and both front me to play closer together.
