United should of signed £19.5 million Eberechi Eze instead of £23 million Brewster. Had a very good game yesterday against Leeds and scored a very good GOAL. Looks more the type of player we need than Brewster is at the moment

He wasn't an option for us. He had dreams of Spurs and landed on Palace after flirting with West Ham. All located in his hometown, all established Prem clubs that pay bigger wages.

I agree, he would have been a better signing though.

And I bet he’s had more passes and chances in one game than Brewster has had since he signed. Brewster isn’t the problem, it’s our inept midfield not creating anything for the forwards. I just hope we get Moose back soon to play up front with Brewster.

doesn’t run enough for some on here. ‘wouldn’t fit wilders mould’. ‘Hes lazy’. No room for creativity/technical ability unless they can chase the ball like a dog for 90 minutes.

blah blah blah...

Brewster touched the ball 5 times first half while Mcgoldrick ran his blood to water he was stood there watching a player 12 years older dripping in sweat while he wandered around picking his nose. Nowhere near ready for the Prem yet.

I must have missed the ‘picking his nose’ bit on the tv coverage but I’m commenting on the comparison between Brewster and Eze and the chances they have had, not whether Brewster is ready for the Prem. I believe he is our most natural goal scorer, with Billy, and will score goals given the chances. I remember a certain Keith Edwards used to just ’pick his nose’ during games, came alive when the ball was in the area though, scored a few too as I remember. Give the kid a chance to settle in, new club, new way of playing and new surroundings. It’s not easy to play in the system we play as some have already found out.

I'm getting flashbacks to Keith Edwards and Bob Hatton

What a combo they were. Bob running his nuts off and Edwards doing nothing for 89 mins but?...…………………..those of us of a certain age remember the rest! The one chance in the last minute and guess who was first to the ball in the penalty area?

Three things...Sign for palace, stays in his home city, earns bigger money.
Yep it seems all these players we should have gone for would never sign for us. I’m thinking what’s the point of being in the Prem. can’t wait to be back where we belong.

This is bollocks brewster is not fit to lace EZE'S boots anyone who knows anything about football can see that

Must admit he was outstanding today, too good for Palace.

Great player. Would be hated here not because unitedites can’t recognise a good player but because Lunny strolling about behind him for a whole season would’ve starved him of the ball and exposed his weaknesses off the ball.

Eze is a fantastic player Drunk Blade, but the point I was making and still stand by it is that nobody in the Blades team this season has provided the forwards anything of note in the opposition box. So much so that the forwards are not even passing to each other anymore as seen by McGoldrick shooting from anywhere within 30 yards rather than play anyone else in. Also, Eze and Brewster are completely different types of players but I would hazard a guess that over their careers Brewster will score far more goals than Eze. Brewster's confidence appears to be shot and I can only put that down to the abysmal way he has been treated since he came here. Forwards need confidence in order to be scoring goals and as we saw in the last 6 months of CW, every player was told in no uncertain terms that they weren't good enough on numerous occasions and for a new signing already coming in with a big price tag that he had nothing to do with, it made matters worse. Yes we can see the short comings of most of the players in the squad but you don't throw them under the bus and in particular not a new signing that needs confidence more than most. Brewster isn't ready for the Prem, that much is obvious, but a season or so in the Championship may, only may, kickstart him in terms of goals. Has he got the skill of Eze, no, will Eze score goals like Brewster, no he won't.

The way Wolder handled Brewster was appallingly bad. Just chucked in and expected to perform at a new club, in a unique system, in s new city. Like he was an experienced pro. If you sign someone with little experience you need to slowly blood them.

Lucky for Southampton that Eze was knackered after all those runs against us.
