A Happy xmas to each and every Blade.

As much as I love my team and football in general there are many more important things in life, and the last few years have brought home to me how essential it is to have good health. To anyone who's going through a rough patch, I won't trot out cliches, they won't help. What I do know is that a positive mind can work wonders, so please stay in a good frame of mind, it can't do any harm, can it?

To everyone else, have fun, and here's to a successful next two home matches.

Take care the lot of you UTB!

Well said.

I found the older older I got the easier it became to keep things in perspective. No more sulky Saturday nights for me because we lost.

I just move on to the next game and enjoy the craic.

All the best to you and yours.

Thanks Maidenhead, age definitely brings an awareness of what does, and doesn't, matter. Today I helped at a homeless kitchen in the centre of Sheffield. If anything is designed to bring home how we live in a 'them and us' world it was doing this. There's not enough space here to go into the pros and cons, but suffice it to say for those of us who enjoy a civilised standard of living, we should be grateful for all that we have.

Like yourself, I follow the Blades and look forward to what's happening under Nigel. It's the first time in a long while that I've actually felt positive about a managerial appointment. I'm not getting over-excited, but so far NC has impressed in a way that I haven't seen at the Lane for many years.

Take care mate

Without getting all morose Christmas really is a time of reflection, I always give the Salvation Army a few quid and even more so this time of year because you never know what' s round the corner. Helping the homeless is a very noble act and again, makes us realise how lucky we are.

Happy Christmas to all, and here' s to a 2014 full of Blades victories.

The older I get the more frightened I become. Still, I am better off than most, above ground and sentient. Merry Xmas and may every Blade have one wish come true before we die. Mine is that the Pigs go out of business. Sorry for being uncharitable!

Hi Snowman, I read your post and the first line was touching. I'm sorry you feel frightened as you get older. Whatever the cause of this, do as you wrote, remind yourself that you have your faculties, that you're some way off your grave (let's both hope that's a given mate), and that you'll be around to witness the mighty Blades return to the Premiership.

I don't take things like fear lightly, so I hope that no-one else on here does either. Once your mortality becomes something that crosses your mind more than it used to, it's easy to look on the downside rather than see the positives life has to offer. As for my wish? That I win the euro lottery so that I can afford to have the fuckin' heating on whenever I feel like it. There, a man of small ambition. Seriously though fella, take care and try and look on the bright side. YTB

Hi Snowman. None of my business what causes you to be frightened, and this forum probably isn't the best place to talk about it, but should you ever feel the need to have a chat I'm sure the people who run this site, Foxy and Linz, will find a way to put us in touch. I wouldn't advise leaving email or phone numbers here, so contact the admin as described, and I'd rely on them to make every effort to put you and I in touch.

Take care mate
