exactly same happened in cup game with arsenal in 78 about 20 arsenal fans right in middle of shoreham they never stood a chance can remember their leader biggest black guy i had ever seen in black crombie think they called him dalton and he was the top boy of the north bank i remember West...

60 years ago this month...

of course these were the days return fixtures within the week were played early in the season if my memory serves me correctly think same reverse fixtures happened at christmas and easter hodgy and silent will correct me if im wrong utb

And great players they were,, but how the game, and the ground has changed since then. in fact looking back it was a different game altogether back then, before subs were allowed, our whole football world was different back then.
I think those were the days before any live league football was allowed on't telly the only football was boys five a side on Sunday
And we had to wait outside the paper shop in all kinds of weather for the green un to be delivered, just to see how they'd played if you couldn't get when they were playing away..
Young ens today eh, they don't know thi born .....

At least it is still 11-a-side on the pitch, a goal at each end, one ball, and the team that scores most goals wins. Simple basics, endless possibilities. If you have specific memories, do post them on the threads referred to above. It is always good to learn of others’ experiences.
