Superb performance, football as it should be played. Five - one would not have flattered Utd and on another day the shots will go in. Play like that every week and it'll be a real season to remember. Weirs appointment should be seen as a master stroke by McCabe and co, lets see if it is acknowledged?

I think people are being a little harsh on Porter. Last season, I thought we always looked better with Porter in the team and I think he did well last night. His problem is that he missed his big chance. If SUFC continue to play like that, he's likely to get a chance like that in every home game. There is no reason why he shouldn't be able to get 20 goals if they keep performing that way.
A really promising performance and very good to watch. Goals were hard to get despite creating numerous chances. I think another striker, is needed. Williams is a neat player but IMO he lacks the physical presence for the role he's been given. Coady looks good and McGinn was solid throughout. Performance of the night, DW for getting such a performance out of those players.
Good performance. Made the opposition look very ordinary. Despite the many positive things he contributes, Chris Porter is not a goalscorer - and he has to be one.
Thought Porter was alright. Can't see we'll find a big man up front, with work ethic to run the channels, physicality to hold the ball up and deal with the centre halves, and ability to finish off lots of chances as well. Just don't think that quality of player exists at L1 level.
I thought McGinn was superb with Doyle. Kept in simple and always available. Good entertainment in front of a crowd who were willing the team to do well
Narrowing of the pitch works with the quick passing game played Friday. I see no one will scream for wingers if we play that way this season. It also means greater support play from all players.
Great performance all round. Hate playing 1 upfront but the movement from everyone was fantastic. Particularly Brandy, Murphy & McDonald. They were all over the place. Very impressed
Promising start, no more than that. McGinn looked very good and Brandy always seemed to want to get at the opposition with mixed results.
Really liked the composure of CC when he came on. Biggest improvement from last season was we didn't seem to panic when pressed, although we must keep in mind we were playing 10 men.
Enjoyed the performance, Doyle I thought had his best game for us, Macdonald has a new lease of life, Brandy has both an irritating and brilliant factor to his game. Still concerned about our scoring power, but at least we are creating chances. Thought Notts County, gave us to much room, even before the sending off, will be interesting to see what happens when a team presses us in midfield.
