Whilst they played reasonably well as a team the decision making and final ball left much to be desired - we are still missing guilt edge chances that could prove crucial against the better sides - don't forget our last three games have been against the bottom three teams in the division!
We pass it well but it can get predictable and we need players to run at people and take them on. Need to get a few more shots in too. We are looking good overall but still need to improve in some areas.
Far too many sideways balls and too slow a tempo in central midfield. Not enough good players in key positions. Bash is not a wing back, nor is Lafferty and certainly EEL and O'Connell shouldn't put in most of the crosses. Poor performance as evidenced by the above ratings. It was a poor and out of form Bury we were playing.
The ratings in what I would call the key attacking positions in the starting eleven are as above: Sharp 5.74, Done 5.18,Scougall 6, Basham 5.38, Laffery 5.38. Nowhere near good enough to win any game.
Strange set up at the start of the second half with Sharp wide left & Done right, looked disjointed & Bury must have been delighted to see Billy out there.
Chapman coming on changed things, & allowed us to build pressure, Wilder dosent waste time if somethings not right, so credit for righting the wrong so quickly!
Always likely to be difficult breaking down a packed defence. Balls into the box generally lacked quality and we missed Duffy in this respect and his ability to unlock a tight defence. Introduction of Chapman's pace made a difference. Yet again, quality performances from Fleck and Coutts in midfield.
We weren't at our best but didn't need to be. (in the end) EEL distribution was poor at times. Thought Sharp found himself out on the wing far too many times. Also though Clarke coming on would have caused them more problems than he did.
