It's been a limp end to an absolutely brilliant season. Finishing 9th on our transfer/wage budget with many players we had in League 1 is incredible. I don;t think you can praise CW/AK and the off-field staff and the players more highly. And for the Prince in backing us last year.

This is probably the most important summer in the club's history. Chris has to work more magic than he has ever worked before. Along with needing to bring in 6/7 players on a very tight budget he's also got to start putting in place some sort of development system. There's nothing between first team and the Academy at the moment and we can't keep relying in the management team pulling rabbits out of hats every year. We need to put a system in place to bring our own players through at this level. We're years off at the moment. Given changes to the rules, I suspect the big teams will find it more difficult to carry on their global farming of youth players, which will either make competition firecing to sign academy players or lead to a bit more parity.

Either way, it looks set to be an exciting summer.
