Any arguments?

The only one I'd consider is Besic for Lundstram. Maybe Fleck for McGoldrick if he's fit.

Lundstram is quite new to this all action, disruptive role. Besic is a specialist in it and it is absolutely the type of game to start him in. Lundstram's level (understandably) dropped after last week too. So that's the argument for Besic.

Besic in to absolutely destroy Mason Mount. That said I thought Lundy was good again yesterday. McBurnie has to start and I’d have Jags in too for arguably our toughest game so far. We won’t be reliant on Bash bombing forward.

Pretty much same as vs Leicester but McBurnie in for Robinson.

I think we missed Fleck this week too, if he's fit, I'd consider benching Norwood.

I would start McBurnie or even Sharp alongside Robinson. Zouma is a clumsy lump and I can see Robinson causing him a few problems. Harsh on McGoldrick maybe but he has looked a bit off it for me, giving the ball away more than usual and has already missed a couple that really should have been put way. It would be nice to see Mousset before too long as well.

I think that finding the right partnership up front will take a bit of time, but it's nice to have so many options and combinations to choose from.

Much less debate across the rest of the team, other than whether Fleck comes back in. Personally I have been very impressed with Freeman bar his rather silly cock up yesterday. He keeps his place for now, and giving Fleck more time to fully recover isn't a bad thing.

I like that side but away at Chelsea I can see Besic/Fleck starting instead of McBurnie. We will flood the midfield and look for Freeman to break forward to support the lone striker.

McBurnie for Robinson. That’s a given.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Jags play in place of Basham after listening to Chris’ post match. Sounds rather unappeh.

McBurnie has to start in place of Robinson who a lot of the time looks lost on the pitch and runs down cul de sacs.

As I’ve said many times before, some of our fans won’t miss Fleck until he’s gone and it’s too late, Fleck must start if fit.

Jags in for Basham and I think Besic could start against Chelsea too.

In place of who does Fleck start though? Freeman is absolute quality and gives us an extra edge going forward in the flat 3.

I think Freeman must start, but I’d like us to get Fleck in the same team.

Freeman and Fleck are completely different players. As much as I like Freeman, Fleck is more an all round midfielder and gives us a better balance.

I think if we were playing the 2 in midfield with one in front I’d agree, but with the 3 I’m not convinced. If it wasn’t for Freeman we wouldn’t have beat Palace.

I'd be happy with that, but wouldn't mind persevering with Robbo up top alongside McB... we need that threat in behind and on the break away from home for me whoever plays.. Could even see CW sticking with Robbo and McG, but Oli will hold the ball up better and work his nuts off.

Thought Lundstram was still 90% yesterday, whereas everyone else dropped more than that, Robinson was about 30% of what he's capable of, nothing came off for the poor sod. Midfield stays the same for me, Fleck needs to earn that shirt back somehow, or wait for Freeman to lose it. Freeman needs to chill out with the skill, but he's dangerous.

In an ideal world Robinson and McBurnie would be our front 2, young, athletic, skillful but I think Robinson needs to get his eye in, or just have a bit of time out to think about where it's not working.

Stick McBurnie in for a forward and leave the rest.

Mental that we are now looking at 3 from; Fleck, Norwood, Lundstram, Freeman, Besic, Morrison.
And 2 from; McBurnie, Sharp, McGoldrick, Robinson, Mousset.
Can't help the feelings of loyalty to Billy and Didsy, but wonder how Moose and Olli would work together?

I think the established pairs that work are
Bill and McG
Bill and Robbo
Bill and McB

Ones that would also work well
Robbo and McB
McG and McB
Moose and anyone but Bill I imagine.

Ones that don't really work
McG and Robbo

It's similar to the beginning of last season, in Preseason McGoldrick and Sharp were great, but at the start of the season Wilder went with Clarke and McG, and it just didn't work.

Eventually we got the right balance. I think Wilder will have seen enough in the last few to know he needs someone more dynamic up top from now on.

We've always been a really hard working team under Wilder but maybe these games are taking more out of us than championship games. Maybe we need to rotate.
That being said I'd put Fleck in and play Freeman instead of Mcgoldrick with Mcburnie for Robinson.

I thought Sharp and McBurnie would work well together but if you watch the goal yesterday they were both in the right space to get on the cross, I think Sharp is going to have to work even harder to peel off toward the back post if they are going to be a pairing.

Agree, it's been a warm start to the season and players will get wasted, later on the cold conditions will take their toll so there is room for a little rotation and we definitely have the players.

I'd go the same but with Sharp instead of McGoldrick. About time Billy had his start 👍

Henderson
Basham Egan O’Connell
Baldock Lundstram Norwood Fleck / Besic Stevens
Freeman
McBurnie

Gives some bite in midfield, frees up Freeman to be progressive and McBurnie is a no brainer.

The fittest out of Fleck / Besic starts.

There's a lot of possible permutations, maybe even more after Tuesday night.
For certain I'd play McBurnie, probably instead of Robinson.
He worries me a bit, he's tricky but to no avail so far, and I can't actually remember a meaningful effort on goal as yet. I hope he improves. I like Freeman, I'd like to see him stay in even if Fleck is fit.

Henderson

Jagielka Egan O'Connell

Baldock Besic Norwood Fleck Stevens

McBurnie Sharp

PL experience for me. Might seem abit harsh dropping players but hey ho.

Moore in goal. Must keep him motivated (unless CW plans to use the new guy as the no.2 keeper).
