To be fair they scored from 2 comedy goals and a soft pen, we played our second team and it was a nothing match so don’t read too much into this one. In Sir Chris we trust, amen

Bornmuff and Watford considering legal action with Villa staying up by a point?

disappointing end. 2 unlucky goals that cant be help 2 ricochets. 1st we get the tackle in but deflects into path of adams & then Jack Robinson stops the cross. dropped wrong place. & then the penalty a tad naive swamping ings was probably going to end that

but being very weak in striker department has cost us, as i put on another thread. as i dont want have ago at sharp but even he know you have to bury them chances & ings scores same 2 chances no doubt. for a premier league 1st choice striker is billy sharp & sub leon Clarke

As it turned out that goal at villa didn't make any difference to us in the final placings which I'm glad about but it certainly made a difference to Bournemouth

If ever a 90 minutes defined our season pre and post lock down this game was it. First half the change with Berge sitting deep worked and Fleck and Lundstram were bombing forward causing them problems on the break. They created nothing first half as we pushed up on them. At half time we looked the better team by far organised and dangerous on the break.

Second half we concede a poor goal and it all falls apart as we look devoid of ideas on how to get back into the game the subs and changes to formation don't work and the last 20 minutes are painful to watch.

Would we have finished higher if there hadn't been a pandemic? Hard to say but having to play football in a condensed time frame after training at Home for three months has bound to have had an effect as have the requirements for travelling to and from games.

The team have equalled the efforts of Bassets boys in the 90's in finishing 9th so fair play to them. They have earned a rest and that is what is needed now. Much for the management team to consider so contract issues need to be dealt with quickly. They either sign or we move them out and get replacements in.

Starting well next season will be critical to how our season pans out so the conditioning team will have to find new ways to get the players up to speed over a much shorter period. Off the field the Prince and co need to attract new sponsorship to provide as much support to CW as they can as maintaining our EPL status is of paramount importance.

Time for us to now move onto the rumours board for the next few weeks.

Totally irrelevant now but I can't help but thinking without Covid we'd be in the Europa League.

That said the quick turnaround of games has shown that maybe missing out will be a blessing in disguise.

I thought it was nice that Leon got on the pitch in the second half. Not that he did much, but it was a nice way for him to finish his Blades career in a Prem game. The lad has confounded us during his time here, but he’s also a big part of our rise from the lower divisions and we shouldn’t forget the big contribution he’s made.

Time to move on now, for him and us.

Apparently the official PL fantasy football app had some glitch and briefly showed players having fixtures for the first game
It had us showing as being away to Brighton in the first game
