great second half, Bash and Osborn great, the rest close behind, a real teameffort. Traore handled well by Stevens/Osborn. The pride and workrate in the team immense....two days rest and Chelsea. Zivkovic and Moussett on the counter....

Not seen many better attempts at controlling Traore than that to be honest, if any.

When we couldn't directly tackle or stop him, we forced him out super wide so that any pass would have to be absolutely world class.

Got in a few times but he was nowhere near as much trouble as he normally is.

Great coaching, and well executed by the players, with only 2 days between games it can't be easy getting it sorted.

Maybe I am harsh on him. Just would like to see him demand the ball more and threaten them a bit. He has the talent and he is a big guy. But he has cemented his place in the team now and that's a good thing. Overall he is going to be an integral part of the team
He's a young lad who was most likely given specific instructions on balancing his play today and being smart. I though he did this well and stepped it up more towards the end of the game. Have to remember he's still very early into his education and he will have taken a lot from today's game.

Scored a cracker, 1" offside, ran his blood to water. Doesn't work as a partnership with Mcburnie. Surprised you can see what you're typing looking over your shoulder seeing us closing in on you.

I'm not a Wolves fan.
Crazy how people keep getting confused about who I support.

Delighted with the result tonight, one side now pretty much guaranteed top 5 and Blades taking a massive leap towards Europa.

Also, cheers to NES for bringing off Traore when our left side of bookings looked in danger of a red any time he got on the ball.
He was unreal. Apparently played on with a dislocated shoulder - how the Fek!!! But as well as he played we forced him, although got crosses in, they tended to be lofted with not much pace, making them easier to defend. Excellent player though.

You were doing well until you said Berge was mediocre, then you lost me
He had a bad start to the season, and looked a bit lost, as if the games were passing him by. But tonight he was awesome, his feet are so quick, it looks like he has so much time to decide where the ball should be. OK, he's playing with a few team mates who have done brilliantly this season, but you can see he is way above them in thought and time, and that might be why a few of his passes went off. But, if we are going to shed the team and bring in better players over the next few seasons, he's that first one that we bought. He could end up being our best player.

Reminded me of the Boro game last season. 1-0 win with a goal by a centre back from a set piece. Similar no nonsense performance with the win borne of sheer determination and guts. Get in!

Anybody notice that Patricio could have let the ball go out when, just to be safe, he pushed it out for the corner that Egan scored from.

That little decision gave us the 2 points which could be the making of our best season in recent history.

When you’re playing at this level it is such fine margins that make the magic moments.

Must need some force to pop that shoulder out.

I don't think you can accuse that wolves team of lacking heart, they work hard and are a quality team.

Berge surely told to hold back , much more defensive today with Norwood higher. He stopped his forward running and moved back quite a few times, presumerably by instruction. It sure did work as the ballplaying Wolves-midfield never got a grip as we all know they can. Zivkovic and Mousett offered more going forward, but they don't do the defensive duties as Sharp and McBurnie.

LOVE OWT LIKE THAT 👍👍👍

Stevens and Osborn have looked like Champions League players out of possession and Conference North players when in it, quite impressive
Yep, if Osborn keeps giving the ball away in the final third through shocking passing like he has the last two games, we will get punished. That said he’s been a terrier closing down. Not PL standard for me though

what a vital 3pts, really catapults back into european race. i was dreading today with Neves Moutinho Traore Jimenez Jota but we played very well. i was pleased with how defence nullified the front 3 of wolves. how i was disapointed only 1 shot on target that free kick. who didnt show quality bar brief glimpses we know they have. only time i saw the pace in there passing was final 45 secs when they went 1-0 down & we deserved that yes it was tight game . that 2nd half you could tell there was only going to 1 winner & really only 1 interested in winning, wolves were just coasting. then cracking header from egan, to make our dominance count which youve got to do in these games but that will come with expierence

i know they say it about us but i wonder if it finally tiredness from wolves as their 1st game was 358 days ago in PL asia trophy & season could finish on 21st aug

From The Telegraph

They are no stranger to a left-sided centre-back at Sheffield United. Two years before Jack O’Connell arrived at Bramall Lane they had Harry Maguire making a name for himself and eventually becoming an England hero.
O’Connell has put together a compelling case to join Maguire in Gareth Southgate’s squad and stake a claim for years’ delayed European Championship. It would be a similar late run into the team that Maguire made a year ahead of the 2018 World Cup.
He returned to Chris Wilder’s starting line-up against Wolves after coming off the bench at the weekend, his first start since a knee injury ruled him out of the start of Project Restart. John Egan grabbed the last-gasp winner but his returning team-mate helped keep the score level before that.
The Blades suffered an indifferent resumption to football following sport’s suspension for the coronavirus pandemic, with O’Connell’s absence leaving a huge hole that proved almost impossible to fill.
In Wilder’s system he pops up everywhere. On the left side of three centre-backs, he barks orders like an old-fashioned stopper and points to where his team-mates need to be, noticeably more louder than Egan in the heart of the defence.
Yet he often finds himself in full-back positions both attacking and defending. Against Wolves, that means facing Adama Traore running at pace, as well as the primary objective to keep Raul Jimenez quiet. There was also the small matter of Matt Doherty overloading that side of the pitch. It takes organisation, concentration and bravery to keep Nuno Espírito Santo’s team down to limited chances.

Southgate has looked at different systems since his three-man defence took England to the World Cup semi-finals but O’Connell looks capable of adapting. He showed his range of passing to switch play and find his fellow centre-back Chris Basham at the other side of the pitch. As an ‘overlapping centre-back’ he would also find himself in positions of a winger. It was his cross in the first half that found Oli McBurnie and produced the only shot on target of the opening 45 minutes.
Southgate’s last squad had Maguire at the heart but O’Connell has arguably had a more eye-catching season than the others - Tyrone Mings, John Stones and Fikayo Tomori - who faced Kosovo last November.
O’Connell showed the other side to his game with a professional foul on Diogo Jota, earning a booking. At the other end was another vocal, strong performance from another uncapped centre-back in Connor Coady. It gives Southgate options he may not have planned before the pandemic.
