Both just been released by Blackpool, Mellis seemed to do well at Barnsley and was impressed with Davies last season and would definitely prefer him to O'Grady if that's who Clough wants

davies is now a free so just a signing on fee if he comes in, his agent will be touting him around
the championship clubs as he would command bigger wages in that division so it will not be a done deal at this stage but i think he will sign. Next stop o"grady he would be great in the set up along side davies .Two centre backs and another quality midfielder and we wouldnt be too far off having a squad that could take this division.
