Pre season thread here.

You get to pick 3 blades (players/manager/staff) past or present to come to your local and have a few pints with. Wilder’s been in my local quite a few times so I’ll have to leave him out. For me it’d be Brian Deane to reminisce while me and Billy Sharp listen intently with Neil Warnock stood at the bar ordering drinks upsetting the barman.

Billy Sharp definitely. Then maybe Michael Brown, Deane or Beattie

Then I'd be inclined to go for Rob Kozluk for the stories

- Kozluk. Funny bloke, interesting and probably has hours worth of stories to tell.

- Any player who was a constant through the Bassett era. As above but specifically for the true version of the 'Vinnie Jones/Casino' story (heard conflicting reports).

- Wilder.

Heard a few Vincent stories but not the casino one..... any chance of expanding ?!

Ordering drinks maybe. He wouldn't be paying for them though.

Past and/or present?

The greatest, Ernest Needham

The boss, John Harris (although he was a strict abstainer and Methodist preacher)

The muscle, Billy Whitehurst, in case it kicks off and he could tell me some more stories.

I would invite Billy whitehurst, stearman to make sure billy was pissed then don givens so billy could knock seven bells out of him

Don't understand the Givens hatred, he stepped up and hit a poor shot, at least it was on target and he didn't screw up on purpose.
Not hatred, just utter disbelief. To this day I can still see myself on the kop, trying to keep upper lip stiff.
Me and Don could at least just shake our heads at each other though.
To be honest, had some good days the following season.

Kozzy (for the bantz)
Wilder (because I think it’s genuine love)
Paul Woolhouse (for the bounty £££)

None. I pay money to watch footballers play football and hopefully entertain me. I love them while they're wearing the red and white striped shirt. No interest in them personally, although I'm sure they're lovely people in the main.

When they leave my club, as nearly all of them will, I've no further interest

And John Matthew's, the nominated penalty taker bottled it as did every other player. At least Don, never a penalty taker to save his life, had the bottle. He was gutted for a long time afterwards! Must have apologised to me to me a dozen in the next 12 months

Reyt. Don's forgiven(s).
I'll have him replaced by whoever said no to buying Maradona.

Ashley ward - I need me roof doing and he's a builder ,

Billy Whitehurst - we'll be in the Rawson on a day the pigs are at home (no explanation needed)

Vinnie Jones, back up... (For the record I thought Jones led us well away from home) and I loved the sendings off, wasn't all serious about it back then me..

Dean Henderson
Billy Sharp
Chris Wilder

Subs: R Stearman and C Evans.

Bryan Robson. He could buy the drinks, he did nothing useful whilst he was with us so it's pay back time.
