They’d be contributing to wages if it was a loanWhy would Man Utd do that?
They would get close to £1m for a season long loan so this would make 0 sense for them

£7m would for be a bargain for a permanent deal but Wilder today seemed to be indicating that a loan was likely. I can't se Man U selling him now. Why, when you can loan him out for another loan fee and then assuming he does sell sell him for at least double the £7m mentioned now or maybe even he'll be given a chance at Man U if he continues to impress.
Not necessairilyThey’d be contributing to wages if it was a loan
One downside with Henderson is we won’t be allowed to play him for 2/38 games and we could be in for 6 points in those 2 fixtures
Yep, i mentioned that on one of the threads a few days ago. We need to have a solid backup, not sure if Moore is good enough - for both the two games against Man Utd but also if Henderson gets injured or has a major dip in form.
But if Man Utd won’t sell, 2 games shouldn’t stop us signing him on loan.
Depends how you view it.Put yourself in Wilders shoes.
Debut Prem season, we're guaranteed Hendo and it's up to him if he wants it on loan, or Perm for 7m.
Wouldn't it be prudent in the short term to take the loan deal and free up the 7m for elsewhere? We need to strengthen and spending the 7m+ is only to keep us at the same level when you think about it.
Agree that he might not be Man U number one for a while yet, but wonder whether they might cash in on De Gea, leaving Hendo as back up to an incoming keeper who costs quite a bit less than De Gea`s transfer fee. They need cash to buy a defence, and probably a few in other positions.Depends how you view it.
You can have 2 loans. Say you also want Reece James as well.
You loan Hendo and James then go looking for 20m strikers or you spend 7m on Hendo and loan James and a 20m striker!
Hendo isn't going to be Man U no 1.
They'll stick with DeGea. If they decide to offload for millions, they'll either go for Oblak or Navas. Very doubtful they'll go with Hendo. He could have spent 3 years at a club by then instead of being loan ranger ad nauseum. Then if Man U really wanted him back, they'd just give us a bid we couldn't refuse.
How hard would it be to get a deal where we would buy him permanently for £1, keep him for the season and then have a clause where they can buy him back for £1 at the end of the season.
We get our player and can still bring in two loans
Dean gets his move
Man United get him back should they still have him in their plans.
Everybody wins
We need a permanent goalkeeper
It's up to us to make the right offer to Man Utd and Henderson
If we do we'll get him, if not he'll go somewhere else.
If we're going to shit our pants at the thought of £7 million, £10 million, or even £15 million for a player we want ,what's the point ?
See what you mean, but him playing 8 games per season plus reserve games isn't going to be good for him at all. He has to be number one somewhere at his age or he will not develop.Agree that he might not be Man U number one for a while yet, but wonder whether they might cash in on De Gea, leaving Hendo as back up to an incoming keeper who costs quite a bit less than De Gea`s transfer fee. Honest questions:
Firstly; how much money do you expect us to spend next season?
Secondly, how many players do we need?
If you divide the 1st number by the second number, and the figure is less than £15m, that will explain why we're unlikely to buy him permanently.
4 players
£50 million
Average is £12.5 million but not all players will cost £12.5 million

Very reliable source !!

We're going to need more than 4 players dude. 7/8 at the very least.

and if Man U don't need him we get a very good player for a pound, nope can't see any problems with that. How hard would it be to get a deal where we would buy him permanently for £1, keep him for the season and then have a clause where they can buy him back for £1 at the end of the season.
