"It’s been made by Elev8, a minor player in the kit manufacturing game, and that brings brownie points in the age of template shirts."

Ours is the best in the division by a country mile. Of course I'm biased, but purely from a design point of view, it just looks damn good.

That being said, it's not a difficult race. There are some real stinkers in there.

Brentford's is decent but too much white for a red and white shirt; I'd be disappointed if we went with that. Leeds' strip is quite nice but I don't think I'd like to see anything that tight on a middle-aged, beer-bellied Leeds United supporter. Fulham's is dull as dishwatter. Villa's looks tacky, Derby's looks cheap, Wolves's and Hull's are amber/orange which never look good on a football shirt (HFS Loans away kit, anyone?)...

Only other one I'd say looks okay would be Ipswich, but it's still a bit plain and, well...it's blue.

The East Anglian Daily Times. That behemoth of journalism. Are there enough things happening in East Anglia to warrant a daily Times?

Odd that he slates Barnsley's sponsor logo for being too high, but really rates Leeds where it's practically under the chin!

Bit harsh on Sunderland there. And Preston's simplicity better than Fulham's template winner. Blades far better than Brentford, without doubt.

18th – Middlesbrough

This offering from the Teessiders is struggling because the big white band across the middle of the shirts looks like an afterthought, possibly due to the fact the sponsorship writing turned out to be the same colour as the shirts.

So haven't the 'designers' considered a white 'stroke' around the red font? (See Juve.)

Re. the sponsors, I think a world-renowned sponsor can elevate even simple kit designs like Jeep on Juventus or Fly Emirates for PSG. Most English clubs sell their soul for a few bob from a dodgy betting/casino/FX company. Similarly, the badge. United's is a timeless classic. Wendy's looks like an entry in Children In Need.

Mind, having players who look like male models helps, rather than some **** from Teeside. :D

If no truck driver has murdered a prostitute recently, then probably not.

Funny you should mention that. Type Ipswich into Wikipedia and it's almost at the top!

Its a strange article from a strange source, why not ask and pole the fans as we are the ones wearing the replica ones?

United kit this year is a thing of beauty, but last years was a thing of perfection.

Here's the East Anglian Daily Times' league table of Championship kits.

Funny how Fulham's is number one, despite it being identical to our 3rd kit... We're 5th btw.

Fulham's is also different to our third kit :)

Amen. Last year's was the best United home kit I've seen in years. Possibly ever

I really thought this would be our year. I thought for sure we were going to win the East Anglican Daily Times Championship Kit of the Year 2017-18 as decided by Andy Warren.
Christian Louboutin, Andy Warren, Michael Kors, Dolce, Gabbana. Slips off the tongue.

Middlesborough have had that white stripe on their kits many times, bit weird to say it's an afterthought.

And that Fulham kit is crap.

Don't think the white band on Middlesbro's shirt is an "afterthought". It's meant to be a modern take on a shirt they wore in the 70s.

My thoughts exactly. Sloppy journalism. Surely that is a bespoke kit made just for Middlesbrough?

He's also missed the fact that the Norwich home kit is a replica of an old Admiral kit so is always gonna be a winner with their fans.

He's only doing the home kits though. But it's also not the same. They use different templates (and Fulham's is nicer!)

Probably for another thread, but be reight. Did I miss something with the whole Elev8 situation or has it just been brushed under the carpet that tuna man incorporated 2 companies after the season had started, and used one as the kit maker and one as the kit sponsor.
