Just listened to part of your podcast Deadbat, its really good! Will listen to that later.

The bit I listened to on releasing players, when Harrry says "I'm sorry its not good news Russ and whatever you do I wish you all the best"! He says it really blunt and it always makes me laugh, although you really feel for the lad Russ. He seems from the brief clips to be a bit of a ball playing midfielder and I'd imagine in those days under Harry you'd have to have maximum effort and be able to really mix it up also, but maybe he did I don't know.

In fairness to Harry, from reading his autobiography he said that he hated having to release players and found it hard I seem to recall.

In case you missed our musical collabs on twitter...thought I'd post them here

A player/s mixed with a song from that era January 1990 to May 1990 with some kind of tedious link

Day two in our 1990s musical countdown to part one of our #podcast look a the United! #BBC TV series. The Mondays, Step On. That spring into summer, baggy was everywhere... apart from across Billy’s tightshirt.

For today’s #TuftyTimeTunnel track from 1990, we look back on the adventures of Harry B, who convinced the board to part with £90k of DIRTY CASH to sign hero of Leicester, Paul Wood. Money talks.

Today's song/player link is all about the New Kids on the Block; Whitehouse(& Ward)' Certainly proved 'Tough enough' to 'Hangin' the 1st team

THEY’VE GOT THE POWER. Or at least they liked to think they did. Our #TuftyTimeTunnel flashback to this week in 1990 sees two big ‘characters’ go head to head in the boardroom. Something had to Snap!

THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS? Maybe not in stature but no doubting these lads heart & desire. Messrs Duffield, Rostron & Todd. Putting a LITTLE BIRDHOUSE IN YOUR SOUL as part of our promotion squad of 1990

Today’s #TuftyTimeTunnel to this week in 1990 sees @PaulaAbdul riding high in the charts with MC Skat Kat on Opposites Attract. Another group heading for the top had an even better pairing of a big star and cool cat....

TUFTY TIME TUNNEL: Celebrating the 90 promotion team. Today's lyrical collab pairs our no.1 with a synth super group. Quiet off the pitch but on it the ball seemed to gravitate to him. 'All I ever wanted/All I ever needed/Is here in my arms'

1589118285232.png1589118292268.png

#TUFTYTIMETUNNEL Continuing our musical look back to the 1990 Blades promotion season. To some fans, 'expensive signings' Morris & Hill were FOOLS GOLD but these two were almost ever present in that highly successful side

In other news we have spoke to Booker, Frenchie, Stan the Man, John Greaves and Janet Stancliffe....waiting on a few others hopefully then a marathon intervew 1990 promotion pod special with all the interviews on. Some were recorded qs and sent but a few we had 35-40 mins with!

Be out in a week or so......

Then we are covering the Warnock documentary

Episode 2 now out

We discuss the board and fans shows

I finally got around to listening to this yesterday and then rewatched a couple of the episodes (wives and fans). Great stuff, thanks.

In addition to the poster in Keith’s house about some “mooning ball boy” incident. Did you notice he also had a t-shirt with a newspaper article about football hooliganism on it? Seemed an odd thing to wear. Perhaps it was a deterrent? ;)

Does all the Stancliffe family still support United / go to matches? I presume John does but what about Paul and Janet?

Glad you enjoyed it. Got a few other specials lined up (Warnock doc, kits, bracketology), plus a few interviews, so it’s nice to hear people are enjoying them.

Didn’t notice the T-Shirt. As you say, it’s up there with wearing a Trident jumper or Polaris body warmer.

The answer to the Stan question is sort of in his Q&A, later in the playlist...

Thanks. Still working my way through them when I need to drive somewhere. Could take a good few trips by the look of it :)

In that case, spoiler alert: he does consider himself a Blades fan, and goes every now and then when he can.
