I need to get a life but was looking at how they feel their preparations were getting on and saw this

I wouldn't comment about how Norwich are doing as I don't know anything about their squad and signings bar the obvious and it will be in the detail where borderline matches (the ones where you need to take the points) will be won or lost. Looking at most of their comments I think they should take the same approach to us.

Some nicely balanced comments.
Tbh it's obvious we are amongst the favs for the drop. Were not spending multi millions like villa and apart from Newcastle and Brighton and the sides that came up with us there are no other shoes ins for the drop.

My tips for relegation are:-
Newcastle
Brighton
Southampton

I seriously don’t think we’ve got anything to fear next season. Especially when teams like Norwich are underrating us and taking us for granted.....But if I’m wrong and we’re down there fighting relegation with Norwich, I know which club won’t pull the trigger on their manager when they find themselves blowing out their arse. It will be Auf Wiedersehen to the German porn star.

He's always struck me more as an adult shop owner rather than the star. Copy of Razzle and a vhs in a brown paper bag kind of thing.

“Having said that, the way they play could result in lots of pens and res cards next season, they tend to be strong and aggressive”

Most comments seem fair except that one, clearly hasn’t seen us play and has a stereotype view of us.

I actually think we’ll benefit more than lose with VAR. The number of incorrect crucial decisions that went against us last time contributed heavily to our relegation.

Agree and that was the feeling I got from their fans too, anybody would've thought they'd trashed the Championship the way they talk but it was fine lines that stopped us being champions.

In my opinion Cardiff would have quite easily stopped up but for the tragic loss of Sala and some dodgy decisions against them. They needed 10 more goals or so.

We share the good at the back tag with Cardiff, who were known for their defensive ability when they went up, but I think we have a far superior attack and are continuing to strengthen that area.

We play better football than Cardiff too. Wilder is not an old school British manager.

Bit weird for Norwich fans to question our defence though, they let a lot more in than us even while we were sending our outside centrebacks up to attack, doesn't bode well for them that little nugget surely?

The old aggressive and will give away fouls line, is there anything to back that up, we gave away one penalty at home didn't we? Can't have been many away, I don't remember it being a thing.

I sit fairly close by so had a great view, and I still can't get over that look on Farke's face when Chris ran into their technical area and kicked their drinks over (when they were playing their stupid cheat tactics) season afore last. Not sure about porn star, didn't look like he'd ever seen proper pashun before 🤣

That said some reasonable comments on there I thought, not really been following what they're doing TBH.

There incredibly bitter that we got all the attention for our promotion. I think they will struggle, they were struggling towards the end there.

Top work as ever Roy, it’s does frustrate me that pundits and fans of the teams we were promoted with seem to glaze over the fact we had the best defensive record in the championship last season. This, I believe, is far more important than how many goals you scored, due to the obvious fact some fans clearly want to avoid. It’s all good and well when you dominate games of football up against leaky league one bound defenders. In reality your going to have to able to absorb pressure first, something neither villa or Norwich did well in the championship. Good luck to em both, I sure they’ll be needing it just as much as 6 or 7 other premier league teams.

UTB.

Some Canaries are still bitter and jealous and I’m not sure why, maybe it’s having a nickname based on a bird.

They over achieved massively last season and should feel proud
But they were very lucky last season scoring loads of last minute goals and worldies (especially freekicks) out of nothing, doubt they can keep this up.
Also Pukki had the season of his life and logic suggests he can’t get anywhere near it again.
Their defence was poor in the Championship, so don’t know how it will cope in the PL.
Probably get relegated but good luck to them if they stay up.
Would prefer to see all 3 promoted clubs stay up so it dispels this myth that the PL is so fantastic and so much better than Championship standard.

Oh and they were incredibly lucky with late goals last season (just in case that Norwich fan is lurking)

They shipped goals left right and centre last season and that's not an easy fix .
They're my favorites to finish 20th.

They always seemed to have a soft underbelly regards defending last season but they made up for that by their excellent attacking.

Can’t see them blowing teams away in the prem, so they better toughen up at the back.

Exactly what I was thinking. They only finished a couple of points in front of us and the title was still open on the final day of the season, it’s not like they ran away with it. To think they can start the season without any additions to the starting 11 seems like a sizeable leap of faith to me.

Reasonable and informed comments from most of the posters on that thread.
Wrote a few seem to have forgotten that Cardiff - with whom we share some similarities in transfer policy if not football - came very close to surviving last season (compared with eg Fulham whose profligacy did nothing to save them from an abject year).
I haven't seen anything to make me think that Norwich will storm the Premier League, and I expect them to be battling towards the bottom, but I'm not going to criticise their approach either.

I'm wearing my balanced, fair and reasonable hat right now, so here goes.
Norwich were excellent last season, some of their attacking play was tremendous, and very good to watch. The last minute goals are not luck, they are no luckier than first minute goals. Credit to em for that.
Defensively they clearly need to improve, not sure if they have done that so far.
Head coach Farke deserves credit for the way they played, he is clearly no mug.
However, he is just the head coach, not the club manager, and he had Stuart Webber doing a tremendous amount of good work for him in recruitment etc. Chris Wilder is in charge of everything from top to bottom, and this was obviously taken into consideration when the awards were given out. I think Norwich fans are still a bit peeved about it, but hey ho.
Whether they can replicate last seasons performances, both as a team and individually, remains to be seen. Keeping hold of Max Arrons will also be key.
All things considered, I thing we may edge them next season.
