What's happened is they've overloaded on 2 years to get promoted. They've spent money that should have essentially guaranteed the right management and player in order to get promoted. The reason he's taken over is to essentially run a PL club, reap the commercials and boost his own image. It happens all the time, and is practically the same model for most foreign owners in the championship and premiership. It's hard to make a profit, but once you've got promoted it can be a sound investment IF run properly. The hard part is getting promotion and it's effectively a gamble getting there as we know the championship is a very hard league.

In order to do this quickly and effectively, Chansiri has used Doyen sports to advise him on players and staff to gain promotion accordingly. He's produced the capital and they do the 'hard work'. Obviously failed spectacularly. Recruitment has been ridiculous, players have been overpaid and they've been left on bloated contracts.

Fast forward to now. See Xia at Villa, and possibly McDonald with us. Wasted money on an ageing squad with no sell on value, the gamble of not being promoted means that the overspending has affected FFP and the window has now closed. So what do you do? You probably don't want to waste any more money, you realise that the players you have got are on ridiculous contracts that will affect your NET financial scores, but you cant sell them on. They've tied themselves in knots, he can't put anymore money in and I doubt he will. They can't raise any money, the only sell-able asset they've got is probably Reach or at a push Bannan and with those two gone they can't replace and will probably go down.

Enjoy.
Loveleh simply loveleh :)

I read the OP as Butland going for £7million to Chelsea, which would then facilitate Westwood to Stoke... now they’re stuck with him. Doubt Westwood would’ve commanded much, if any, fee at all.

Ha-ha cahill. I'm an older dad and my daughter (15) tells me that at school they have pupils her age that are outwardly lesbian, binary???, and gender neutral (or something like that).

Went to the People's Museum in Manchester yesterday, I was pleased to see the " gender neutral" toilets there :)

The OP said "he was going to stoke for £7m". Surely Butland would have been going from Stoke.
I agree with the rest of your post, though!

From the director who was at charlton , she was the only director to come to the lane on derby day had a few and opened up about a few facts in the copthorn after
The goalie they won’t play , Butland was going to Chelsea in summer he was going to stoke for £7m but wouldn’t go and be number 2 there when butland deal fell thru and club had relied on the money so chanseri bombed him out , Hutchinson QPR bound not been injured for months ,
Manager having to work with a spread sheet every week so he only has a certain amount of cash to work with week in week out hence why players are playing one week then benched or dropped the next week because of playing bonuses don’t fit into that weeks spread sheet , hence why he won’t get bullet because he works within the parameters set by the chairman

He Excels in every game for me.

Added to the fact Stoke wouldn’t let Butland go anywhere for a penny less than £25m probably

I thought they were proud of paying MASSIVE wages to their superstar players crocks.

Their HALF SEASON ticket prices are merely a reflection of their MASSIVE wage bill.

Half season ticket for the North £325, South £370, Kop £265.

Their January sales could be interesting.

They try to slag him off because they hate how he's changed our fortunes. It eats away at them every day.
He’s a Blade, he gets it. Like Warnock. Like Bassett. They’ll never get it. We suck people in, there’s something about us, fuck knows what, just something that drags people in and hooks them for life. They just don’t have that.

I’ve seen people ask ‘what’s a proper club?’ I can’t define it but we are. It’s intangible but whatever it is, we have it.

Not sure whether to laugh or crash the milk float reading that.

Simpleh luvleh

Wow. Abosultely staggering. £299 to watch Hudderfield (FULL SEASON)play in the premier league and see players like KDB, Silva, Hazard, Salah etc.

£325 for half a season ticket in the north stand at Hillsborough to watch a bunch of overpaid, overhyped disinterested crocks, go through the motions playing some of the most depressing drab football I’ve seen in recent years. Unbelievable.

All happy bunnies over there - love it.

Watching the team under Jos’ management is as much fun as sticking pins in your eyes.

All of that makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

But I understand it. I get it.

It’s unexplainable to the extreme.

Just missing the bit about Madaric still owning part of their ground but was told this before the Weeds game. So I must've met Sunjihi in the pub and not known it?

A - :rolleyes:When was the last time you went I the Penny Black?
1995?

B- The Miss Havisham reference will be lost on most on here except those that did GE for English Lit' O level and the odd Dickens aficionado.

C- Do you have a life? You are on here all hours of the day jousting with deranged numpties and the 'weers muneh gone' merry crew. Surely Mrs ST must need a good seeing to from time to time?
I actually remember it looking like that after Newcastle visited in the 70,s :rolleyes:
