.A top ten championship team? Lets not forget the top half next season will be stronger than the last.

Basically got a year to rebuild our attack to get it even up to championship play offs standard, oh and by then we'll have lost Berge as well.

These c(_)nts better invest in some talent and quick cus this is infuriating and very demoralising. Decade after decade of cheap as chips sheffield united and I am well and truly bored shitless with it.

The tiny clubs we've seen get serious investment ffs and we're having to deal with this precession of jokers.

Basically the team we played city with without Ndiaye. Obviously won't play as well as that every week either.

We'll find out next season.

No Berge. No Ndiaye. No Doyle. No McAtee.

No Basham. No Norwood. No Foderingham. No Egan. No Baldock. No Lowe. No Bogle. No Egan. No Norrington-Davies. No McBurnie. No Jebbison. All out of contract next summer.

None of these players out of contract in the second list will likely be offered deals during the season as they'll all want pay rises for being in the Premier League. The club will hold on to the summer and hope a few commit. Other than that we can only offer them an improved short term deal with a huge pay cut if/when we go down. Will the club want to waste paying out higher wages now when they know we're going down?

We are in an absolute mess as we're run by a bunch of bog roll amateurs who know nothing about running a football club.

Careful with the libel.

Mid table to lower championship at the very best. Especially with losing Doyle & McAtee.
The standard this year is far better than last year. We lost 27% of our games and still won automatic promotion by 11 points.
How do you know the standard is better or worse when The season hasn't started

It’s all hypothetical but Leicester, Saints & Leeds will be far better equipped than us Burnley & Luton plus they’re all in a better position than Burnley, Watford & Norwich.

The three teams that have come up are probably on a par with the three teams that got relegated. Wigan were a non starter due to financial issues imo.

Looks a far more competitive division all round this season does the championship.

Who gives a fuck about the Championship? Last time I checked we’re in the Premier League!

A premier league side this season at least

hope that clears up any misconception that we are a one man team

Last season I thought "the team" was very average and no where near the Wilder team,

However what was noticeable last year with how great we were at defending deep in numbers. When we parked the bus.....the opposition huffed and puffed but couldn't break through and many times our goalie had very little to do, even when the defence were busy.

The Wilder team were like a well oiled machine, creating chances using the overlapping centre system.
Where as last season we had little spells of looking good but also had spells almost every game where we were disjoined and couldn't put 3 passes together.

However the big difference between the Hecky see and Wider side was last year we had some top individuals
who could produce bits of magic and score from nothing.

Those magical players were McAtee and N'Diaye, it meant we always had a chance, even when we looked disjointed and playing poorly.
In fact last season there were some matches where we had an off day, but still managed to win.

It matters if our team isn't even top end championship standard and we're playing in the league above, not to mention overwhelmingly likely to be needing to build another promotion team in 12 months time

I’m going to wait until the window has closed before making a judgement on the quality of the team.

You would have thought he would have wanted to test himself in the world wide window that is the premier league

Need 7 or 8 don’t we maybe more so many injury prone players
Exactly, how the fuck can we seriously be counting on the likes of Mcburnie, Jebbison and Brewster. Not to mention Traoré better hit the ground running Christ almighty

This feels like the cheap as chips Warnock 2007 season. ‘Bargain’ (false economy) signings like Christian Nade, Luton Shelton, Jon stead, Mamadou Seck, Legsofwood.

Even then, we didn’t sell our star player 2 weeks before the start of the fucking season!

Ffs, step up Anis Slimane.

…And, although it rather goes against the ‘catastrophe’ narrative that most of us are subscribing to today, the reality is that on that one-off test against Man City, some players really stepped up and looked like they thrived in that company more so than in the hum-drum of the Championship (Baldock, Berge, Egan, Anel); some held their own and confounded our worst pre-match fears (Norwood, Fleck, Robinson); and a couple looked out of their depth against the best side in Europe (Jebbison and Lowe).

N’diaye, meanwhile - our big hope on the day was for the most part easily marshalled by City’s central defence. In fact, he was largely anonymous in the game save for missing an absolute sitter in the second minute. For all the glorious ball skills he showed us, it has to be said that he was not an especially reliable/ruthless finisher. Times many over the past 2 seasons, we were left ruing missed one-on-ones with the keeper or occasions where we wished he’d just ‘put his foot through the ball’...
