January would be the best time to try and sign Ebanks-Landell on a permanent deal. Wolves have the option of another year, so we'd have to pay a fee at the end of the season anyway. Then there's also the risk of him alerting other clubs between January and the end of the season. Also best to take advantage while Wolves are still adjusting to their new circumstances and making plans based around them.

Eel shown his worth, fitting in nicely and getting better with every game. He has very quickly become a pivotal part of the side.
Would make sense to begin negotiations for the long term early to avoid disappointment.
