While avoiding much of the grief that's being bandied around on Twitter at the moment, we thought it prudent to make it clear that we consider ourselves providing a free commentary service for Blades fans and that if this is abused in any way, we will happily block and if necessary, report any Twitter member in the relevant way - Blade or not. This isn't open to any sort of discussion and we won't argue about it.

This obviously isn't aimed at the majority, but we thought we'd better make our position clear.

The bottom line is: if you don't like our Tweets, don't follow us.

We will block users who:

* Tag us in racist, homophobic, sexist, threatening or other questionable messages - whether aimed at ourselves or elsewhere.

* Tag us in indecent photos.

* Send us expletive-filled tweets. While we understand that emotions run high at matches and we do occasionally swear on our Tweets, messaging us with "fucking cunts" or similar is unnecessary and rather ambiguous. Do you mean us? We can't be sure - you'll be blocked.

Other things to note:

* The views expressed are those of the person writing the Tweets, whether Foxy, Daz or myself. They are not the views of Sheffield United FC; we are not the football club and have not been employed by the club to provide the commentary, despite their occasional endorsement.

* If you have any queries/comments to be directed towards the football club, please email us on [email protected] or post in the SLO comments forum. Please do not try and send them us in 140 characters.

* During matches, we are slightly busy to answer too many questions. Feel free to ask away, but don't be offended if we don't respond. Have a look back through our timeline and it may be we've already covered it

* We don't tend to RT commercial requests. If we like your product or service, we'll tweet it of our own accord.

While this last bit may fall on deaf ears, we would also ask all Blades to bear in mind that they are currently being scrutinised by the press and the actions of a vocal minority can reflect on us all. Occasionally it's worth remembering what your Mum always used to say:

If you can't say anything nice, sometimes it's best to say nothing at all.
