Either Clough is wrapping them in cottonwool or mceverly, Kennedy, Ben Davies, Higdon and Mcnaulty are going into the play offs with little game time to their names in recent weeks.

Here's the report mate

United's U21s ended the season with a fifth victory on the spin, following a comfortable success over Barnsley on Tuesday evening.

In a game that was played a Stocksbridge Park Steels Look Local Stadium, Dominic Calvert-Lewin netted a first-half brace after an own goal had put the 'hosts' in front, as United were three goals to the good at the interval.

Chris Morgan's youngsters started confidently and were immediately on the front foot, taking the lead in just the fifth minute. A corner wasn't dealt with properly and the final touch came off a Barnsley defender giving Dibble no chance.

Six minutes United doubled their advantage with CALVERT-LEWIN getting on the end of a pinpoint cross from Dimaio.

Barnsley were struggling to handle the Blades, further chances came and went before United made it three before the break, with CALVERT-LEWIN again the scorer.

At half-time, trialist Jonathan Helm replaced Callum McFadzean, before Evans and Hamilton replaced Reed and Adams respectively just after the hour.

On a sunny evening, chances were at more of a premium in the second-half and it was the Tykes who almost scored a consolation goal with ten minutes remaining, but the woodwork saved the Blades with Willis beaten.

With time running out, substitute Hamilton saw his effort cleared off the line as he looked to add a fourth, but it mattered not, as United ended the campaign in impressive form, notching five clean sheets and 15 points from their last five fixtures.

Blades: Willis, Paling, McFadzean (Helm 45), Reed (Evans 61), McGahey, Whiteman, Coustrain, Dimaio, Calvert-Lewin, K. Wallace, Adams (Hamilton 61).
Unused: Eastwood, Heh.

Hadn't realised that McFadzean was still with us!

Davies and McNulty will play on Sat, I would think.
