I was there sure it was the fa cup match we lost 1 nil

I celebrated a goal about 5 times in 20 seconds

I was there but couldn't see a thing thanks to a mate filling an oasis bottle with red wine for our 7:30 departure from The Sportsman. Oh the days of being young and free.

I thought that but the article says October. We played Norwich in 3rd round which would have been a January. Unless the Star is wrong........

As stunning as it is, The Star is wrong. it was the FA Cup match.

I got a lift with some poeple off the old Blades mailing list - names completely escape be now apart from "Charl".

In that case I was there - I think it was my first away match without parental responsibility. And therefore it wasn't the red wine incident (that was a Sunday lunchtime k.o)

Definitely the FA Cup match in January 1997. I was behind that goal with my Norwich mate. Happened not long before John Polston scored the only goal of the game at the other end
