Anyone else just feeling increasingly that Adkins is going? I was kind of 50/50 as to whether I thought McCabe would stick with him but this rumour from Turkey about Yanal just seems to add up that the Prince isn't happy and he wants his own man. It might all be crap of course but McCabe doesn't seen impressed at all from Adkins this season, given by his lack of support in the recent forums. I had thought that Adkins was going to stay because surely McCabe would have got rid this week, what with nothing to play for, but this rumour would explain why Adkins is still there, because they're waiting for a response from this Turkish guy. I just think no smoke without fire, and clearly the board aren't enamoured with Adkins.

Certainly feels like something is going on doesn't it?

That feelings called hope, sadly I think we're stuck with him

I don't see it like that, because I think we need to stick with him, and we can't just keep sacking managers, its not like its worked in the past! The only reason it might be better now than this time next year is that Adkins has only brought in two players who are definitely contracted to us for next season, so its not like its his squad, unlike when Clough left.

I think it's more about the standard of the loan players, that is the thing that makes me a bit dubious anyway. It's a bit like he's playing a Football Manager game from about 2007.

**Thread police alert** Why post this in GBC rather than on the existing rumour thread?

I just feel the lack of firm commitment from the club, especially from McCabe in the two recent public audiences indicates things aren't settled on the management front by a long chalk.

My faith in Adkins had been severely dented but I can't think of any better realistic options.

Good point (and I knew someone would say that) but done it now, its not the end of the world is it?! Mainly because the Adkins leaving is separate to the Ersun Yanal thing but obviously connected. I guess I'm hoping that someone might have some nugget of info and threads that appear in a title aren't as noticeable as a fresh thread. Its worried me as soon as I saw the Yanal thing, because I don't agree with sacking Adkins.

Sunjihi not been proved wrong yet and says he's on his bike.

I've not read what he said directly but I heard that he is right in the past. I have no faith in McCabe picking the right guy if he sacks Adkins, he'd probably go for someone with a similar record, if not worse. Chris Wilder for example. He's less proven than Adkins and ok he's got Northampton up and I like Wilder but to be he's a younger Mickey Adams and we sacked him too! We seem to constantly go from an appointment who plays football on the ground (which to date hasn't really worked) and then we appoint a direct manager, often with Blades connections, so Wilder would fit the order!

much as I do not particularly like Adkins, with all the positive spin (too much like a bloody politician) is this guy really the man to take us forward? not really set the world on fire as he?

Neither has Adkins so far

WTF??

A lot of these foreign managers seem to be better coaches, and maybe players listen to them more. If you look at the teams this guy has managed you'd say that he must be a decent coach. He even won the Turkish league as little as two years ago. I wouldn't be against this sort of appointment but there would be a couple of worries, especially at this club.

Of course its only a rumour, but if it turns out to be true than it seems to mirror a certain man from across at S6 and no doubt the Pigs will say we're copying them! He has managed Turkey so he can't be that bad. It seems that adkins is totally preparing for the next few weeks and beyond etc, but of course what else would he do.

I think the writing is on the wall at the moment. Seems to be a lot of doubt about his future. A great shame if true in my eyes. Given Adkins' comments about restructuring the club with or without himself in future (said it a while ago on RS) then I can see him possibly departing.
I really hope it's not true. The board really are a total mess despite their good intentions. I really don't like us being one of those hire them, fire them clubs.

Thing is, if Adkins has been as incompetent behind the scenes as he has been in handling this year's "promotion charge", then it's understandable that change is mooted.

We don't know. What we do know is that Adkins talks a good game.

The Pigs would love that! another thing for them to obsess over with us! C*nts!

Adkins 'record' is the only thing hes got going for him and the only thing the lot who want to keep him keep banging on about. CV this, CV that...

in which case youd want someone with a similar record and as much as eveyone says we wouldnt get anyone with a record half as good as Adkins this guy on paper has a better one (win wise). I know it was abroad and so they'll say this guys CV means fuck all yet Adkins means we couldnt even dream of sacking him

Yeah I know, but the thing is ever since we got relegated we've had forums with all managers and Mcabe where they all fucking talk the talk.

Does my bastard head in.

What's your worry . Players putting too much weight on with the prematch meal - kebabs .

The more you think about it , The Prince may well think with the money he has put into the club , he should have more say and involvement . This guy will have been recommended to him perhaps by associates already connected with the club. A bit off piste and a joke card , but hand on heart McCabe bless him is why we are in league 1 . Perhaps it is time to listen to the prince and his advisers . The prince may well start throwing is weight around along with his money . Hasn't McCabe just recently met up with the prince.

Me I would stick not twist .

Yep, I could well see the Prince saying it's his turn now after the last two appointments have failed. So I wouldn't be too surprised to see something like this happen. And if it does, maybe the Prince would feel more inclined to put more money in, in which case it would be the best option for us - stick with a British manager and spend little, or appoint a foreign manager who's surely a good coach and spend more? No brainer.

If this happens it could be a stroke of genius but seeing as its us it'll be David Weir 2.0.
