7 days ago we were told our brand new chief scout was done and dusted and would be made public in 3/4 days.

What is the delay this time?

No one can find him in order to sign on the bottom line. Apparently he's out scouting

I don't know what the compo is but it also doesn't mean he hasn't been working. Can I ask if you think we aren't signing players because we don't have a scout?

I'm slightly confused by the whole thing to be honest. He left Chesterfield in April so why would he be on garden leave? He'll have to work a notice period, I'd guess, but he left in April and it would be two months max.

If he is signing, whether he's contractually allowed to are not, no doubt we'll already have a list of players from him. It's the most important period of the season, if we're delaying the signing to avoid paying a bit of compensation it would be shooting yourself in the foot.

He might have a clause in his contract that states if he leaves he can not work for a competitor
