Mcburnie

He's not looked reight since that Brighton miss. I think that might have been the straw that broke the camel's back.
Agree with that. He just has the look of a guy who’d rather be anywhere than on the pitch. Rest him next time, play Mesic and put Fleck
In the 10 position. I sound like a broken record but Didzy has to play in the hole, takes the pressure off needing to score and let’s him relax and express himself

Think the thing is with mcburnie he doesn’t look great on the eye just the way he dribbles and runs cause he’s such a big man you expect him to be a bit of a donkey .

But he isn’t is a top all round striker and proper finisher

Unleash him and moose

I’ve been a McBurnie fan from day one, but even I was surprised tonight with just how good he is with the ball at his feet.

Sorry to be blunt about it but anyone who thought he played badly is just wrong.

He's had a stop start debut campaign so far but he is growing. The second 45 last night he bullied and dragged their defence all over, created space and linked up well with Fleck and The Moose.

If he can find some consistency within a run of games then we have a hell of a player on our hands. And you know what.... I think he will.

Yes my son!!! Just make sure she's clean, nothing worse than stirring someone else's custard!!!!Screenshot_20200111-103410_Chrome.jpg

Strange to see so many differing view on this.

To me I thought he looked half a second off the pace, poor in challenges and didn’t do very much of anything in the first half. A switch seemed to flip in the second half in particular after his goal and he looked much much better and as many have said was one of our better players.

There has been lots to like about his performances this season but also lots to improve on - which you might expect as a young player.

mousset is still our most threatening player imo - we look a lot more dangerous with him on the field.

Where does it say I decided before the game ?

Because there is no other way you can have that opinion. Other than amplifying everything he did wrong and ignoring what he did right - which comes from existing predjudice.

I imagine it’ll be Mousset & McGoldrick at Arsenal, with McBurnie returning for Man City, as he’ll likely need a full week to recover from what I suspect will be a fairly heavy session at tomorrow’s South Wales derby.

I thought he started poorly, trying to deal with crap balls from our panicky midfield who don’t seem to be able to beat the press. He didn’t even seem to press their players at first. Then he grew into it and we managed to string a few passes together and show a bit of quality in the final third.
But, first half, I could criticise all of them, none of them looked like us at our best.
Second half was a different ball game and he looked a threat, started bothering their defence. Then when Moose came on they looked like a proper partnership. Right from the start. Just as I was wondering in my mind if it was the right substitution he immediately linked up with Moose.

Good second half for most of the team but we really need to learn to kill games off.

If I was Wilder I’d be tempted to give them today off but have them in tomorrow. It wasn’t a great performance and you don’t want complacency setting in. And it would stop McB from going to Wales.

I think Ollie has got that goal scoring touch like Our Billy if Didzy had been the same position the ball would have gone into the keeper when as a natural goal scorer finds the net a bit like a magnet it draws it in, I’m happy with our record signing he has the potential to score 20 a season but tbf he did track back which shows he’s a team player and understands what he has to do sometimes in a team that won’t run away with games like we were last season.

This.
All much of a muchness first half, bang average. First 10 minutes of second half Mcburnie was poor. Gave the ball away twice under no pressure whatsoever and missed a great chance with his head. Scored then looked a different player for 20 minutes after that. Got stuck in and won a few headers, linked well with Mousset then visibly tired. Better.

I've been telling everyone that Mcburnie's not a traditional English number nine since we were first linked with him, so it's nice to see people singing from the same hymn sheet. The game yesterday was a midfield ruck until Moose came on because our two strikers dropped deep. As a result of this the Hammers back line pressed increasingly high resulting in a congested middle of the park, and a high pressing West Ham forcing us to go back to front.
Moose opened up the pitch; they dropped deep; Mcburnie got space to link and the midfield had more time on the ball. For 20 minutes Norwood was like prime Xavi. Our strike force should be one of Mcburnie and Mcgoldrick with Moose and another pacy striker not at the club (unless Robinson improves drastically). Sharp can play with different types of strikers and can make a workable partnership with any of them.

Forgot his username but does that McBurnie hater on here changed his mind yet? Still 24 and never played in the PL before.

Some including a friend of mine have decided that mcburnie will always be shit no matter what he does. Maybe its the 20 million, the way he runs, the ginger beard, the porn star girlfriend fucks knows, but they need to wise up and see what a good player we have and get behind him.
