United stars from the 1991 derby winning team are set to be re-united at a special anniversary event.
Dane Whitehouse, Brian Deane, Carl Bradshaw, Brian Gayle, Paul Beesley, Ian Bryson, Tommy Cowan, John Pemberton and John Gannon will be at Bramall Lane on Thursday 17 November.
The evening will be 20 years to the day when the Blades defeated city rivals Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 in what had been the first top-flight derby game in more than 20 years.
More than 31,000 attended Bramall Lane for the game in which Whitehouse and Deane scored the goals to secure victory against the Owls.
Fans will be able to re-live memories of the game with classic clips from the era on the club’s ‘legends big screen,’ followed by a question and answer sessions with some of the former players and ex-physio Derek French. Andy Pack will be acting as master of ceremonies.
All funds raised on the evening will go towards United’s Legends of the Lane museum project and the ex-player foundation at Bramall Lane.
Doors will open at 7pm and guests will receive a free pint of house lager, bitter or soft drink on arrival, before enjoying the club’s home-made steak and stones pie with gravy and peas.
Tickets are priced at £25 per head or a table of 10 for £199.10 and available in advance only from the Sheffield United Box Office on 0871 995 1889
For those who missed out on the last legends evening, it was a cracking night as we’re sure this one promises to be.
